I dont get very emotionally attached to cars. I had my 71 Stingray for 16 years and sold it without much remorse. That was 8 years ago.

I sold my 71 Chevelle about two months ago and bought my camaro.

I had the Chevelle about 8 years, put lots of time and money into it. Swapped out the engine, Trans, rear end, radiator, interior, blah blah blah...
I got a call from the guy I sold it to last night telling me it had been totaled. He hit some bricks in the road at night and the driveshaft broke, ruptured the fuel tank and boom! Car-b-que. He kept apoligizing to me because he knew how much time I had put into the car but I seriously dont have any feelings about it. Its gone, I didnt want it back. I guess some guys would be torn up but I really dont care. I only feel bad for the guy that bought it because he spent a bunch of money buying it and now he isnt going to be able to enjoy it. I Told him that when I look at these pictures I see a project, just not MY project.

No one was hurt by the way, just scared and pixxed off.

Heres a few before and afters;

What are the odds? Pretty high, I'm guessing. Too bad about an old school cool car.

If I was him I'd buy it back. those wheels and caps, engine, maybe trans, rearend, body panels.....all worth quite a bit of money, or rat rod it. Could be fun and I bet he can get it back for peanuts. :yesnod:

That sucks to be sure. At least no one was killed or seriously injured, right?

Thats right, no one hurt. He did tell me he did something to his foot running after the car after it stopped, he put it in park and got out but because the driveshaft was gone it started to roll away. He had to chase it for a few yards and thinks he twisted his ankle on a piece of brick in the road. Other than that, no injuries.

Thats what I told him, not sure what he is going to do but Id give him $3000 the way it sits.
