Scientology has a bad rep...but my Google research doesn't pinpoint exactly why. Mostly I come up with anecdotes about Tom Cruise and disgruntled former members of that faith. What are the facts?

You will need a foil hat before we begin.
Then read Dianetics by L Ron Hubbard.

Because Dianetics / Scientology is a made up 'religion.' And the reason L Ron Hubbard made it up?

L. Ron Hubbard invented it on a bet. The bet was that he could create a religion and get a good portion of Hollywood to buy into it

If you have money, they'll fix that problem. They won't fix your problems though.

Let's just put it this way. Scientology is a horrible, terrible sci-fi story that was made into a religion on a $1 bet between L. Ron Hubbard and some other crappy sci-fi wannabe writer over probably a bunch of tequila. No kidding.

Wonder how long before one of their people register here and start trolling us?
:waiting:
They opened a "celebrity center" here in Nashville years ago and I immediately started seeing those fanatics all around downtown trying to hand out flyers and recruit people. I really don't think that they realize they are in the South and we believe in God - not space ships :Jeff '79:

It's a cult that believes aliens flew here to earth on 737's through space. Then to reach the higher ranks in said cult you have to pay MILLIONS. ALso add into the fact that as a retardologist you are no longer allowed to use modern medicine to treat things like mental illness. (Ask the travoltas how that worked out for them)
Scientology is made up like all other religions. :leaving:
Maybe non believers in Christ feel the same about Christianity as most do about Scientology? :island14:

you mean Kame and Anil ?
believing in someone or something, for the salvation of your soul, is one thing.
giving hard earned money to someone or something, is a whole other thing.
they may or may not be related. you can't purchase your salvation. but you can go broke supporting others.

I think anyone who is religious is a nut. :D
No difference if your Christian, Muslim, or follow Scientology.
But I couldn't care less if a person is religious, or what their political views are, or what colour they are or if they have tattoos covering their face. If they are decent people that's good enough for me.

What if her cans aren't really that big per se, but she's really short so it appears that they are big for her?
What then?

Midget porn has no place in a Scientology thread. Try to maintain some standards, would you please?

I can tell the difference between a short chick who's cans appear to be larger than they actually are due to her limited stature, and someone who just got big 'ol giant floppy jugs.

Judging by your response in the Bruce Jenner thread your standards fall far short of this statement. :slap:

I've never given scientology a second thought, but I watched that documentary for some reason. Afterward, I couldn't understand how anyone could fall prey to such an obvious scam. And that cocksucker who leads it now that LRH is gone...I'd like to bitchslap that punk.
