I think for me has been this HHR I have for the week, at least it has XM and an ipod interface in it. That made my trip from Orlando to Fort Myers bearable. I did get a shocking 27 mpg at 85 the whole way. Impressive for a toaster.

Chrysler Sebring including the love stains the back seat at no extra charge.

As far as worst driving -- i was in the G6 class & they gave me an HHR I think one of the worst cars i've ever driving.

this ^^^

and the 2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo wasn't much better. I wouldn't trade the valve stem caps off my Tacoma for that Chrysler POS.

You probably topped mine. Amid 90's Dodge Shadow. Or whatever is similar to the Dodge Shadow. I took it back after about a block and paid for something nicer.

So only a couple of us have ever driven a rental car more than 10 years ago?

Some kind of POS Fiat every time I went TDY to Italy. Doesn't matter the year from 1996 - 2003...they were all pieces of crap.

Anything other than the Chevy.

Serious. I don't know what other makers have against men's balls. I'd like some leg room, please.

The new style Imapala? As much leg room as a truck.

Honda Accord? Sardine can.

Ford Fusion? Sardine can.

Motherf'kin tank of a Chrysler 300? Amazingly, their crack team of engineers managed to turn the driver's area in that land yacht into a sardine can.

WTF???

2010 Dodge Avenger.

I hate Mopar interiors, and always dread getting stuck with them, but this particular car had the added charm of overheating after ~5 mins of idling. Of course that wasn't to be discovered until I was about an hour away and then stuck in traffic.

Checked the fan fuse (good), added about 3/4 gal of premix coolant (was low), but it still acted the same.

POS. Less than 15k on the clock. At least it didn't leave me stranded.

POS Chevy Cobalt in San Antonio, TX at Avis.

Reserved a full size car and all they had was a Cobalt.

Another reason I stick with Hertz #1 Gold.

I with you brother... the family and I flew into LA back in the mid 80's for a 14 day vacation. I was supposed to get a "mid-sized" all they had was the Chevette. I was pissed but I had no choice it was either the Chevette of public transportation. Hertz really gave me the finger on that rental.
It was so frigging slow it was almost suicide to attempt to enter the freeway system. It would do 69 mph flat out with the foot to the floor on the flat. It would drop to less than 60 on any sort of incline.
The next day I took it to another Hertz location and wanted to drop it off and pick up another car, they refused to do it and threatened to charge me for the entire week since I had rented on a weekly rate. I kept that POS for 7 days and dropped it off at the first Hertz place I found and rented a mid-sized Pontiac from Avis. It was so much better (still a POS) but much better performance (relatively speaking.) :leaving:

All I've had were shit.

Even more so after I turned them back in.

I believe it was a Skolda. European station wagon. Everywhere we went I had it to the floor and still couldn't break 100 mph.

Back in 1989 I was in Europe and rented some kind of little Ford, we had a very similar to it, I think it was the Fiesta. That little sucker would haul ass! I drove it at over 200 kmph on the Autobahn. I drove a similar American Fiesta a few weeks after I got home, although it looked like the same car, it definitely wasn't it was a complete POS!

Geo Metro. All the POS enterprise rental had. I wasn't even suppose to have this rented on GOVT orders. Out in CA the POS wouldn't even top 45 going up a hill. Imagine that on the Freeways out there.

Geo Metro.

Same here. It was a complete POS. It was back in 1998 after my truck got stolen. I had just graduated high school and it's the only car they would let me have since I wasn't over 21.

Aveo.

It was even worse than the piece of crap Cobalt/Cavalier that had 100k miles.

Back in the mid 80's, some co-workers and I were flying to New Orleans, then driving to Pascagoula Mississippi to meet one of our seismic boats. The only thing large enough that they had was a couple year old Cadillac that was a mile and a half long, in a pimp green metallic paint, with the white landau top.

That would have been THE CAR to go pick up some ho's. Fuzzy dice hanging on the mirror would be a plus.

It might be due to my newly ordained midget status, but I thought that the Ford Fusion I rented out in Maine was pretty roomy. It was a 2010.

Well, technically Vet4JDC rented it ,but here is a pic of the Mitzubishi "whatever" Van we rented from Fam & Antillean Car Rentals (Hertz was next door but a few bucks higher) on St Maarten.

The side we saw when they brought it around was ok, but the "other" side was bent up, AC worked almost to the parking lot exit, and if you notice the right front wheel, its the spare, and of the 5 lugs one was missing a nut and one was half on and cross threaded!!!!

It was hilarious, we could only turn left at about 10mph and the wheel started woobling at about 45mph!!! It got 6 of us around the island for the day and as you can see 4 years later its still funny as hell:slap:

Ha Ha Ha...4 years later and my SO is still giving me crap about this one....of course we could have rented from Hertz, Budget and a few other big name rentals...but where would the fun be in that...I would much rather rent from an island guy in a stand called "cheap car rental".....

Hahahaha. I rented SO many shit-mobiles when we lived on Sint Maarten.

Good thing was no questions upon return. Shit car out, shit car in.

Eventually bought a Cavalier. Was glad to have something American, no matter how crappy. Still way better than the little euro boxes

RAV4...no matter where you put the seat you can't get into a comfortable position and be able to reach the steering wheel.

PT Cruiser

I've had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited since the beginning of January, and I actually like it.
