(Red, I'm looking at you.) I have a two stroke Troy built that vibrates the shiznit out of my hands. I have about 1000 yards of fence line that needs whacking periodically. And a long a$$ ditch that is very good at growing weeds. I see Echo makes weed whackers and I completely love my echo chainsaw. Any report on their whackers? I'm looking to spend up to $300 on a good one.

Echo SRM225...

199.99...professional everything, 21.2cc 2 stroke..sips fuel..makes great power, very smooth...

Try to find one with the rapid loader head pn:21560056...or with the echomatic Pro head pn:21560031...if you cant find one with these..drop the coin and buy the one if you like fixed line..and the other if you like a good solid..reliable high capacity bump feed head.

The speed feed and Uturn heads are gimmicks...and will not be around much longer...

You can even add on an 8" steel blade for brush cutting...it will do it, not as fas as an 800 dollar stihl mind you...but it can handle brush and small saplings.

Just another Echo plug. Not sure what model I have, but I bought it at Home Depot as a 'Refurb'. Rapid Loader Head.

Had it 8 years, changed the spark plug once. Never an issue...thing is bulletproof. Same with my Echo leaf blower.

I was actually just cruising through the Home Depo pages of Echo equipment. I think as my stuff starts to wear out I am going to replace it all with Echo equipment. Noticed the back pack leaf blower, that would be nice..... :yesnod:

Wow... it seems unanimous.

+1 for Echo

I do have an older big $$ Stihl that has never failed me and gets a big thumbs up but the Echo is great in the price range you gave.

Stihl is having a sale.

I have an old 4-stroke Cub Cadet. I cleaned the tank and added new fuel line. But it won't suck gas to the carb for some reason? I can pour gas into the carb and it will run. Any ideas?

Stihl for my trimmer. I think it's an FS90R? Or some rendition of that same trimmer. I bought a redmax backpack blower last fall. Between both of those, the two single best purchases last year related to hard maintenance.

1000 yards of fenceline? I'd get something like this, but that's just me.

I have a Stihl Hedge Trimmer and Chainsaw, they are good as well.

I'm actually wanting to sell my Hedge Trimmer, I don't really need it.

This is actually what the guy that lived here before us used. I prefer the weed wacker and the back pack sprayer full of Round up. only have to do it a couple times a year. The rest of the yard I do every other week.

Then I retract my suggestion. I was picturing you doing this every week like my dad, who like Hank Hill, thinks mowing the lawn is a privilege not a punishment. :Jeff '79:

I purposely limit it to every other week. I could definately go crazy around here mowing, whacking, cutting, and trimming but Im not that dedicated. My nearest neighbor feels the same way so there is no competition to keep the lawn up.

My dad traded up to a Troy Bilt (I think) 4 stroke trimmer, he had an Echo before. He was bragging about how cool it was, blah blah blah. He used it for a few months and went back to an Echo. Said it was too heavy. He's got a big ass yard though.

Hey Ghost... the in tank filter is probably gummed with varnish. Try a new one.

I don't have much reference to compare to Echo, but my Toro has done well.
