Anybody use this stuff on their deck, supposed to be 10 times thicker than paint. I have three decks to cover and it won't be cheap so i want to find out if its worth the effort.:yesnod:

The only thing I have heard from contractors is the time it take to brush it into the seams of the wood. They say is takes long and its only a patch for when the deck needs a rebuild.

Your mileage may vary:seasix:

If you have a Sherwin Williams nearby, check out their deck covering options as well. I need to get something on my 10x12 back deck soon. It is not in bad shape except for a couple of floor boards, but it needs a little TLC

I have read reports on many of these products. As long as you are not in any cold weather areas with no frost or snow, it works. I have seen results then when first put down they look great, but after one cold winter, people complained of it popping of their decks in large chunks. It is only applied to the surface of the deck and moister gets in the wood from underneath and sides, so when it freezes the moisture then comes from under and pushes up the deck finish and peels in large pieces. It is expensive depending on the size of area you have to cover. IMHO, save your money and replace deck boards.

Another thing to consider is the composite decking boards. Of course, this is the more expensive route, but it "fixes" the issue much longer term.
