turns 'em into charcoal pretty fast when they put them right on the lava. They call that Pittsburgh style, black on the outside, pink in the middle. :yesnod:

There's a place in Frankfurt called "Steak on a Rock". Yep, they bring out your steak still sizzling while on a heated rock. I imagine the business wouldn't last long in the states due to the first dumbass that burned himself and sued.

Maybe doing it once would be cool. The gases that come out of Lava are pretty noxious and that would not be a good think mid or long term.

1) Buy lava rocks at store that sells grills.

2) Hire Spence to incinerate those rocks with his flame thrower.

3) Cook steaks.

4) Enjoy!

5) Call ambulance for Spence, and notify the local burn center.

I've had something like that at Japanese restaurants. They bring out a hot stone but you cook sliced meat yourself on it.

Not uncommon.

Hell, the fajita plates at many Mexican joints are similar.

As stated above, I would bet it is pretty noxious. I've never been around a lava flow, so I don't have anything to gauge it by, but common sense says it's bad.

Yea, I've seen the heated "plates". The rock I'm talking about isn't easy to use or move around. Iirc, homeboy server wasn't exactly an expert with the rock either.

Definitely not as good as the dude we had manning the grill last night!!!:D Sort of funny that .mils grill like we do. There was a video from a few years back, and it was either Army or Marines at an outpost in Afghanistan in a full blown firefight, and the guy manning the grill never missed a beat. That's dedication right there!:seasix:

We grilled the hell outta some T-Bones from a "favor" we did for another nations folks once. Although, the only combat involved with us was elbows flying and fingers being bitten due to getting close to the wrong teeth.

You know how long it takes to cook a grundle of T-Bones with only one small ass, round charcoal grill? A long time. :D

Maintenance would be eating each other if you didn't show up with the big ass grill first! We had it rolling last night! Lava...who needs lava?

Team America at the grill, f*ck yeah! :patriot:

I just had a discussion with a German last week, who is actually an awesome cook. I told him my baby back ribs had been on the grill (indirect on the kettle grill) for 2 hours. He started trying to lecture me on how to grill them. 45 minutes max. I told him, yeah, this ain't German grilling where it takes longer to heat up the grill than to cook. :slap: He was absolutely sure they were bone dry. I bent them, broke a piece off with the juice running out and he complained about the dark crust. But mostly because he didn't want to admit they were awesome. :funnier: Americans might like their fast food, but grilling is serious business. :seasix:
