I can't watch any yt vids. Embedded here, FB or direct on the yt site. They lock up my computer every time. Not even a ctl-alt-del will do anything. PC has to be powered off/on. Just started happening the last 6 mos. I think the Adobe stuff is updated. I tried turning off hardware acceleration. I tried with both Chrome and FF. I have 15gb free HDD space. I'm on XP.

You have version 17,0,0,169 installed

Clean your hard drive since the computer willuse some of that space for virtual RAM (with XP, too IIRc). Go to Adobe: Creative, marketing, and document management solutions (http://www.adobe.com) and update flash. Stop watching porn. Run your virus scan and malware scans. stop watching porn.

My laptop has been doing that too, not every time, but about 90% of the time.

For the sake of troubleshooting, does the same occur using the html5 player?
Change your player setting here:
https://www.youtube.com/html5

Thanks! I changed it and left it running on auto play. It seems to work great now.

There's also a setting in youtube about enabling or disabling hardware acceleration. That may help. In fact since google bought youtube I think its in the advanced google settings.

But the screen gets all sticky. I mean dirty. I mean, I've heard that the screens are hard to clean.
