many moons ago (1993) i worked at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. the story was that a few years before that, the station's TV system (3 channels) ran a series of muppets shows one winter, including Dr. Bunsen and Beaker. from then on, the scientific researchers were called Beakers by everyone else. they didn't much care for it. whatever Beaker.

I loved watching The Muppets as a kid. They always had the best guest stars, and it was wholesome family entertainment. I wonder if they have already cast the voices of the two old guys in the balcony. If not, I'm thinking mrvette and Spence would be perfect.

With Jim gone and now Frank Oz retired from the Muppet stuff, all the voices have changed. It seems most of the "Jim" voices are pitched too high and most of the "Frank" voices have lost the gravel they always had... I think Piggy is the only one that still sounds "right"...
