Not sure I would be up for this anymore. But DAYYYYYUM it looks like a hoot.

Just like the USA before the 20th century.

I guess anything before WWII doesn't count for Dubai? Like when Dubai was a major producer of natural pearls? They were a world leader in the harvest of pearls and mother of pearl for centuries before the geopolitical events, and technological advances of the 1930's and 1940's. They lived high on the hog.
