Have a little dark area near the lift bay that I wanted to light up, so tried one of the LED fluorescent style twin tube 4' lights. Mounted and worked out perfect, got some bright light there now. Had to be hard wired, but that was easy. Cost was $59 at one of the bigger hardware chains, usually has "lowe-r" prices. :D

A nice bright light for over the work bench too.

Why do you have to hardwire?

Nearly every new light we've bought in the last two years has been LED. I love them. Replaced all my outside motion sensor lights with them just a couple weeks ago. It helps that my wife gets 40% off at the lighting store she works at. :D

Why do you have to hardwire?

Not a plug-in. No plug-in end for receptacle supplied, have to supply and wire up yourself or use existing wire from a previous light that you may replace.

Put up a dusk to dawn LED which uses a motion sensor to trigger going to hi beam. Pretty neat light.
Almost all our lights in the house are LED. We switched the Xmas lights over a few years back and can't be happier.
