I need some prayers please. I just got word that one of my brothers is in hospital, he had a heart attack. I don't know any details at all yet. He's 62, thin and in reasonably good health, except he is a smoker. I'm hoping for the best.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for the family that you have given us on this earth. They are the precious jewels you have entrusted to us. Lord, Bill means so much to Duke's family. You made him and you know there is only one of Bill in the world.

Bill was fearfully and wonderfully made in your image, Lord. He is a child of God that has a heart that is weak. We lift up this feeble heart, and we ask that you give it the power it needs right now.

The devil is trying to attack the Allen family by hurting Bill and taking away the joy of good health. We stand against this attack. We lift our shields of faith and we remember all the past victories of battles (that were not even as serious as this situation). We know that you can take this ugly turn in Bill’s health and use it for your glory.

We ask that you do that for the Allen family right now. Give them a hope and a faith that is so strong that the prayers that come out of their lips (and hearts) will burst forth a new life in that weak heart. You said that the prayers of the faithful will be heard.

In the name of Jesus, I ask that you cover Bill in his hospital bed. Give Bill comfort as you lay your loving, healing hands on his weak flesh. Revive what is weak and reverse the damage. Touch Bill ’s heart to beat stronger than it ever has before. Let it beat with a new fervor for you. Until the day you take Bill home, fill him with the Holy Ghost and the power of Christ’s heart.

His wife called, it was a major attack. She says the docs told her it was a widow maker, main artery 100% blocked. They put in a stent (and put him on the patch). Still having chest pains, being watched closely and have four more stents put in on Monday.

Not out of the woods, but at least under professional care. She appreciates the prayers and kind thoughts. And I do too. Thanks and keep 'em coming :seasix:

By the way...my bro called me himself tonight. Sounds ok, but I can tell he was nervous about getting the stent tomorrow. Says he was 100% blocked in one artery and 80% in another. Damn fool actually walked outside and met the ambulance when he had the attack. Worried his dog would bite them :lol:

Our volunteer group at the hospital includes several Chaplains. My wife, who is somewhat religious and worked in hospitals as an RN for about 40 years can bear witness to the effect that prayer can have with healing. And she has seen everything from Catholic priests to Bhuddist monks to Native American medicine men. Even if it is a placebo effect, it is none the less positive and real. I would not deny it to anyone.
