..... he wouldn't be able to lower his head, put it under the covers, and stick his cold, wet nose in my back to wake me up before the crack of noon when he wants to play.

That is all. Carry on, OT.........

Great Danes are the best. I woke up many mornings with a big nose pressed against my cheek.

Yep. The look they give you is priceless. I'ts a guilt trip you can't ignore. Seeing as how I have no kids, Sir Snarls Barkley fills the role and I can't ignore him. He's my bestest buddy!

It could be worse...

My dog woke me up this morning with a fart that almost made me puke.

Ihave no sense of smell but still can taste everything. It's odd. My boy has let a few go (and they are audible) that have made my wife and me gag wile almost puking a few times too. I wish I could fart as well as he does. :yesnod: That would be hilarious in a car with my friends.

We have 2 small dogs and they can jump on the bed, burrow under the covers and have their cold noses up yer butt crack before you even know what's happening. Wanna trade?

No. I'm not a fan of anything in my butt crack, though I am trying to talkmy wife into agreeing to adopt a mini dachshund pup. My parents have two minis and they are awesome. Plus, my boy likes playing with the smaller dogs and they tend to put him in his place

I don't mean to go all "Officer Dan the Mustache Man" with my dog pics, but here's one from when Barkleyw as just about 6-7 months old and my parents' youngest mini, Freddy.

That's a great looking dog! I went to someones house who had this itsy bitsy dachshund they said it was a teacup dachshund, it was so tiny I'd be afraid of stepping on it. I'd like to get an Irish Wolfhound but I'm still convincing the wife.

i love both of my parents' mini-dachs. Their personalities and attitudes are something of wonder and amazement, and like my dog, all they demand is a loving family to live with. Great dogs, IO!

That goes without saying. I love those being put against me anywhere in the morning... or any other time for that matter.

This might be the only instance when size DOESN'T matter.

If you had a smaller dog, he / she would just jump on the bed, if not already there, climb under the covers and put his / her cold wet nose on your back to wake you up. The little dog sleeps under the covers curled up w/ me. The big dog sleeps where ever he damn well pleases on the bed. If they wake up before me, they're both pawing me and kissing me to get me up.

Rosie was a pound pooch, my mother in law adopted her, and when Mom could not care for her anymore, we got her. she's about 12-13 now.

I know I said it before when you first got him, but he's a beautiful pup. I've had two Danes now and they were terrific companions.

Below is Norman, my 13 month old Wolf Hound. He's even more gentle than my two Danes were.

You must be joking....out little schnauzer would jump on the bed and lick your face to wake you up, and he didn't break the bank for dog food, and his poops were not gorilla sized....:D
