RAID for Dummies

I have an iMac with an external WD drive containing 2 3TB drives. Original setup was to have the 2 drives in a mirrored RAID. All was fine, but now the 2nd drive shows up as just an external drive and is not the same as the 1st drive. New files are not showing on drive 2.

Is there a way to re-establish the mirrored drive without loosing the data on the first drive?
