Goose With Arrow Piercing Neck Dies After Surgery
ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif. — Apr 16, 2015, 12:27 AM ET
An Egyptian goose with an arrow piercing its neck that evaded capture for a week has died after undergoing surgery in Southern California.
Katie Ingram of Orange County Animal Care tells KNBC-TV that the goose at first appeared to make it successfully through surgery Wednesday but died a short time after.
She says it's not clear whether it was directly a result of the arrow injury or some complication from surgery, but veterinarians did all they could.
Animal officials had high hopes for the bird's recovery after it was finally captured earlier Wednesday by a car wash employee who had befriended it several days earlier.
