I'm trying to imagine the workers surprise.

Elusive mountain lion captivates LA then quickly vanishes (http://news.yahoo.com/attempts-dislodge-cougar-hiding-under-la-house-fail-071104360.html)

This guy is no stranger to celebrity. This is a National Geographic pic taken of him two years ago.

He's crossed two of the busiest freeways in the word- the 101 and the 405, to make his home in the Griffith Park. And, apparently, underneath some of the expensive homes in the area.

We're no strangers to them.

Taken about 5 miles from our house. Apparently there was a BBQ nearby.

In Hillsboro, out with the high-tech kitties.

And here. You could actually see my house in that pic if you squint.

I've never actually seen one- but I've heard them on occasion in the woods (they're really noisy).

text to first wife:

"Hey, there's a cougar reported in the area; please be careful. If you encounter the feline... first attempt to pet and calm down the animal. If the cat won't allow you to get that close, crouch down, and run in an opposite direction."

That cat is a legend around here. :yesnod:

It's quite extraordinary how that cat traversed the entire Santa Monica Mountain range and ended up in Griffith Park. :seasix:

We have 'em up at the Cabin, but that's the forest. They see them all the time up there, I have yet to see one however...
