Preliminary number is i owe about 2800....the .gov loves small businesses running on a shoestring budget, every available cent must be paid in.
On a 100 dollar invoice...7.50 goes to state salestax. Another 20ish goes to the.gov
About 50% is parts and costs...
So 100 bucks is actually only about $22.50
Customers act like im getting rich, im like bitch please

You don't pay state sales tax. You collect it from your customers and forward it to the state.

Customers do not see it that way, they see the bottom line going into my pocket.

If your customers think the sales tax they pay is going into your pocket, they are idiots.

Owe. My home is close to being paid off, the tax shelter it was providing is all but gone.
Had to write a $1400 check to the Fed, got about the same back from the state. We give about 10% to charity, so that reduces our bill by a lot (I'd rather give it to someone who actually puts it to good use than to the dipshits wasting it in D.C.). Our mortgage deduction is pretty small and getting smaller every year. :woot:

This. Paid off the house last year, and you owe $6K this year
Had to pay $421 this year, down from almost 3K last year. The wife retired over the summer so the income dropped, maybe a refund next year.
I had to pay the ass holes who run this country $500bux. I didn't have to pay state because we have no state income tax. But most of them are ass holes too.
I didn't have enough withheld during the year, so had to send them a check.
That check was a smmmaaaaall portion of what I paid.

We owed... for the first time ever. :ack:
Every time I do taxes and see how little of my money I actually get to keep, it makes me want to puke.

:iagree:
I paid them today close to 5K. That less than 10% of what I paid JUST to the Fed.
Lucky we have no state income taxes in NH. But Property and other taxes paid added another 12K.

I just don't know what a real paycheck is, would love just one week to actually receive a gross check not a net, how can they just take so much of my check from me?

We're getting back something like $3k this year, not sure why but we are. I'd look closer at the returns but honestly I'm just glad we have an accountant to do all that stuff. I hate it.

I am giving around $11,000 as expected, though somehow, it seems like I (we) are always receiving. :leaving:

I owed the Feds a little over $7,250 and the State a little over $1,800 and that was after I stuck $6,500 in an IRA to lower my taxes.
Of course an IRA when I am 66 is a little like carrying coal to Newcastle but anything from allowing the thieving politicians from getting their hands on it.

I owe a pretty good chunk of change due to the sale of some fully depreciated assets that wasn't anticipated when I planned out withholding. Hope someone actually benefits form it.
