When it comes to neighbors, I may be the luckiest man on the planet. My buddy Rick and his family are across the road at an angle, so a few more feet of walkin'. Straight across the street my other neighbor James lives there. His whole family is cool too. Right down the street we have some neighbors that lived near us on another street, and are great people. I have a strip of woods between my house and the next one, so you can barely see them, but that said we are still really good friends with them. On the other side of my house is a rural fire station. They keep one guy there through the week to take the truck to calls, check hydrants, etc. Believe it or not, they are by far the most quiet neighbor I've ever had. You pretty much have to be outside to hear anything that is going on over there. Hell, I'm gonna text my buddy Rick and go drink coffee for a while.:seasix::leaving:

1/8th mile and 1/4 mile away, so just fine.
Nice, laid back and we do help each other when needed.

Next door on my right is an elderly Asian women who's husband recently passed away. She keeps very much to herself even after the handsome bastard with terrific hair shovels her drive. She does let her two Terriers run loose which drives me nuts.
On my left is a 50's-ish dude who's never worked in the 18 years I've lived here. Pretty sure he's on disability. He keeps to himself also.
Directly across the street is a Mopar enthusiast. Great guy.
The rest are your typical neighbors. Toss a wave at them as you drive by kinda thing.

Great neighbors. And we've had those from hell in past residences. So we were due a blessing.
We are at the end of the culdesac and our property occupies from about 11:00 to 3:00.
Neighbor to my west (9:00-11:00)is a hippie chiropractor with an Asian wife. I call them John & Yoko. :Jeff '79: Their dogs name is Hendrix. Past dog was Marley. Quiet introspective types. She plays some sort of strange string instrument on the back porch occasionally. Not bothersome though. They are respectful. I like them.
Neighbor to the east (3:00- 5:00) is a young family. He works for a developer (I believe in finance) she a stay at home mom. Real nice man. Wife is one of those chubby but extremely pretty and friendly ladies. They have 2 kids. Boy about 8-10 and girl probably 6-7. The boy is always into something. He has all the toys. :Jeff '79: motor bike. RC cars. Bicycles. He's into baseball. Red head mop top and apparently is a little league star player. Little girl is a little princess in pink. They have to big Lab mix dogs, Bailey & Bandit. And several cats. Norman Rockwell family. I like them too.
Two additional home complete the end of the culdesac to the east and west. Puts those two homes across the street from another. Those are a brother and his wife in real estate with daughter off to college. And sister in real estate across with retired husband and 2 (I think) 20 something boys. All respectful. I actually knew the brother/sister prior to building here from my real estate biz.
Being at the end of a culdesac, the neighbor kids hang here a lot. Plus I'm pretty sure the red head mop top boy is a very popular kid. You know, good at sports with pretty little sister. It's kinda fun to watch them grow up. Fun to have all the urchins around.
When I was building the boy politely asked me if he could ride his dirt bike on my lot. I of course said yes (and had convo with his dad to ok). Some days I'd come to the site and there'd be tracks all over.. And job trash/scraps all in a neat pile. Apparently, dad made the boy earn his riding by cleaning up my job.
We buy those little ones Christmas gifts, "that Santa left mistakenly at our house"
You could say we like it here. :cert:

I see the humor.:D It's just interesting to see what kind of neighbors people have....
The best neighbors you could ask for. It is the only reason that I hate to ever move away.

I've been lucky to have good neighbors all around. It was shown after hurricane Ike and how everyone was helping one another.

The people to the left and right of me have an asshole for a neighbor! :yesnod:
When I retired and moved out of my shithole neighborhood in SE Baltimore County, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. :D
Bought a place zoned residential/farming on Delmarva, couple hundred acre farm behind me, neighbor on one side, retired USAF, into H-D's and a '37 custom Ford. Other side of me, retired USAF as well, '69 Mustang and two vintage T-birds, wife is a retired DE trooper big shot.
Neighbor across the road, local LEO and Marine vet as well as his wife. New neighbor up the road is a Marine vet too, and a machinist on a tug and barge operation along the Atlantic. He's into Harleys, custom cars.
I'm in really good company with folks that I have so much in common with, love it here.
its easier to share this picture.
Its about 650ft to Neighbor 1, single middle aged lady very nice.
450ft to neighbor 2 young couple 2 kids, also nice people.
250ft to neighbor 3, couple about our age but with slightly older kids, one highschool and one middle school. Great Christian people.
Then theres me, I am probably the loudest one in the 'neighborhood', always something going on with the tractor or the cars or mowing. As far as we can tell we all get along quite well. The land behind me belongs to a friend of mine who wont ever sell and already has a place on the lake. next to me on the other side is 6 acres that is for sale but no one will ever buy it because its priced too high. So, life is good. :seasix:

LOUD.
Parties every weekend, three garage doors opened with three different stereos playing three different stations at max volume. Does wonders for my stress level. :D
our two nearest neighbors are not visible from our house, blocked by terrain, the nearest visible one is 1/4 mile away, and you can see part of their house from ours. pretty quiet place, we leave them alone and vice versa, unless someone needs a hand. 15 acres is more than i was shooting for originally, but now it seems just about right.

Most of our neighbors are quiet, keep to themselves. One asshole in the back, owns the landscaping company that does all the lawns. Thinks he owns the houses too...A 20-something blonde just moved in across the street a few weeks ago, so I'm waiting to see what pops up :D
As I live on a large lake most of the year I only have two reasonably close neighbors. One is down next to the beginning of my ¼ mile hilly curvy driveway. (A decent and relatively quite older person, no problems)
My other close neighbor is a car guy and also a gun guy who like me also has his own private shooting range behind his house. Needles to say we are the best of friends and tend to watch over each others property!
During the typical summer camp open months I have one other neighbor on an occasional basis. My town is small in year around population but quite large in area. It can go from about a 1,000 year around folks to about 5,000 on holiday weekends in the summer.

20 years ago when I was living in a different house, I got some new neighbors. She was a tall brunette and he was your typical outlaw biker type. One afternoon me and a couple of my other neighbors were sitting around drinking beer on the front steps and decided it was time to meet the new people. Truth is I wanted to get a better look at her she was crazy hot, always tanning in the back yard in a tiny bikini. We went over with a 12 pk of beer, introduced ourselves and had a few with them.
Some time later I noticed he wasn't around any longer. On Halloween night of all nights she was dragging the kids around trick or treating. When she got to my house we chatted outside a little bit and I mentioned I hadn't seen Billy or any of his MC buddies around. Apparently he moved out.
Fast forward a few years and I married her.
Fast forward one more year and I divorced her.
Crazy hot Venus swimwear model was crazy.
Moral; Leave the neighbors alone.
Good for you!
I blame my parents for shit like this I really do.

I detest my neighbor. He is a straight up ass. We live in a double and he is unnecessarily loud. He slams doors, drawers, plays music loud...
I have two dogs that for the most part are chill now. We had issues in the puppy stage but it's ironed out.
He will slam a door so loud it will knock something off my wall...the dogs bark...he goes apeshit and starts yelling...leaves notes on my doors...threatens to call the police.
If my dogs bark for no reason, they are disciplined, but when it's a direct result of his asshatery, I let them bark.
He called the health department on us once....when I saw him next I called him out on it...they came and talked to us and said there was no reason to pursue the matter further.
We lost our cable...TimeWarner came out and couldn't find any issue, but the line that goes to our house is fed through his. They asked if they could inspect the line inside his house...he adamantly refused. They asked if he had done any work inside and possibly cut a line, he said "I don't remember," and shut the door in their face. They ran a line directly to my house and noted the reason for vandalism.
He is a late 40 y/o guy with no job...his dad owns the place. He used to have a hot live in...but since she left and he got someone closer to his age...he has been miserable to deal with.
Our side is going going up for sale this summer. Done with his crap.
