Sorry to hear, that really suks. I heard most of the government jobs will be moved under other commands, but I image that isn't the case for contractors. Its not just JFCOM, a lot of contractors are being cut across DoD.

Yeah, there are 4 of us from our company. we're just waiting for the "eaches" to be unfolded to learn our fate.

Those briefings sucked. If you're going to speak in platitudes and theorems, save it for the SES's and above. It's wasted on the guys in the trenches. All we want to know is if we have a job tomorrow.

I did coin a new term out of this," Just In Time Contractor Support", that's what I heard out of the briefings.

I think it'll be a hard sell to carry people on a companies overhead to be called when the "new command" needs them for exercise support.

I have changed commands a few times, the 90's was rough during the draw down in the USAF. If you are lucky it will be a name change, new hat and different bullets on the performance reports.

Really, are they trying to tell everyone this? No company can afford pay someone to wait around to see if the government may need them.

It "sounded" that way...

I guess that is the bad side of being a government contractor, we are considered expendable. I hope it works out for you.

Sorry Jim, if it is any consolation, I am STILL looking for a job since October. I hope all works out for you in the end.
