View Full Version : Fess up if you like KFC...

I like it, but don't crave it...except for every several months I have to have a single breast meal (Original) with mashed potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, a biscuit, and a Coke. The first few bites are very good, but never as good as I remember. I still finish the meal, though. Then I'm good to good for another few months.

That much cholesterol won't kill me....:leaving:

It's good, but I've cut out fast food.

I kinda prefer Popeye's.

....like I said in your :canada: kfc thread...

I can't figure out where they get such miniscule birds. Legs look like roaster wings these days. :
The only way I'll eat the stuff is if I fire it into a 425 oven for 20 minutes until it's darker and most of the oil has dripped off of it. I'll bet there's a half a cup of oil from ten pieces.

I get it for the old man once in a blue moon when he makes me go out and get it.

My typical lunch there is two GRILLED breasts and coleslaw.

I prefer Churchs - much bigger pieces to boot!

They are running their purple pepper sauce promo again with their spicy menu items, but we talked them into giving us some packets with our regular order. IT IS SPICY ALL RIGHT! A mix of red bell peppers and habarneros listed on the package as ingredeients - not jalapenos - as most web sites list it to be!

I mixed some raspberry jelly (1 tsp to 2 packs) to make it tolerable.

Two breasts is an appetizer for me, and I usually get thrown out of the restaurant before I get to the main course.

They've got the best cole slaw around. I could eat a truckload of that stuff- but the fake potatoes and mini-chickens I couldn't care less about....

Have not had KFC in a decade. Maybe two decades. I don't eat fast food very often.

Loved it as a kid, can't stand it now. A local grocery story makes some terrific fried chicken, 2nd choice is the chicken at Royal Farms (MD convenience store).

Wait.... whut!?!?

I have never had anything except a Double Butterburger w/cheese, a side of cheese curds, & a root beer (or a shake) from Culvers. Because delicious.

Damn. Now I'm hungry.

I prefer Popeyes. ALthough the sodium content in one piece is through the roof. I like KFC mashed potatoes better. Popeye fries are the bomb!

KFC tastes like doody since they stopped deep frying it in lard. It used to rule, though. I like Lee's Famous Recipe or Chester's Chicken for FF fare yardbird.

I never liked the place, but my wife does. When they opened one nearby we went there and took the grandkids. They had never had KFC and my wife couldn't wait to see how they enjoyed it. My grandson, who was about eight at the time said it perfectly after taking one bite and putting it back on the plate: "This tastes like school chicken!", referring to school lunches. He was quite a gourmet, even then.

Their Walleye Fish fry is FANTASTIC.

Even the Icelandic cod is good, But both are pricey. Same as, or more than a regular sit-down restaurant fish fry.

Buffalo chicken strips are good too.
I find their fried chicken bucket dinners too dry.
But, I like Culvers.

KFC, maybe once every third month.
Had it last month when the popcorn chicken was a special add-on to the bucket meal (The kid wanted popcorn chix).
KFC is hit-or-miss. If they're real busy, it's usally good and fresh.
If not, it's grease/gut bomb material.

Did not know that. Another reason NOT to eat there. The only thing they had going for them was their Hot Wings and biscuits.

I'm not surprised. KFC is huge in Asian countries. I've been to the one in Beijing. It was like a shopping mall, with three levels and hundreds (if not thousands) of chicken options to choose from.

The world's largest KFC is in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

I first noticed it in Singapore, and got a chuckle out of it, but makes more sense really as that is what the customers want here.
