FORT HOOD, Texas -
Victims of the Fort Hood shooting in 2009 will be honored with medals at a special ceremony Friday.
The Purple Heart and Defense of Freedom Medal Ceremony will be hosted by the III Corps and Fort Hood commander at the military base at 9 a.m. Friday. They will present 47 medals honoring the valiant victims.
A total of 13 people were killed and more than 30 were injured in the shooting.
