To get one of these made?

It's just a slab of cold steel with eight holes drilled in it (four of them tapped).
I don't have a cut off saw or a drill press.
Perhaps I could ship this one and someone could fab a match? I'd pay if sexual favors are not acceptable.

I could drill & tap, but I don't have a piece of steel that size. :nonod:
How thick is it?

Based on the shadow, I'm guessing 1/2"

A bit of back story about the part and its intended use accompanied by a request for assistance couched in civil terms might get a more favorable response. So; what is it and where does it go? And if you get no takers here any local machine or fab or race or High School shop class could whip one of those up pronto... and no expense or wait while it ships to and fro.

Does it have to be that ugly too?
Would this be a lift plate for an engine by chance? Nope too small I guess.

We need to work on "spilling your candy in the lobby" you've already posted a picture of your wife, when that could have been used as incentive to get somebody to make this for you :leaving:

I probably should have mentioned wtf it was.
That there is a genuine, super fine, creation of General Motors that retains the bolts that thusly retain the rear deck latches on the body on either side of the deck lid opening. It lives it's life covered in undercoating stuck way up in the rear fender well.
They are riveted to the body normally. However, when dang rusty, they fall out from whence they came startling thine human turning wrench who had no idea those were up there.
Almost every bolt holding the latches broke off. I managed to save one. The other was thrashed.
Looks to be .25" thick - I'll post up some measurements.
More importantly, apparently none of the Corvette vendors know it exists. hmph.

Gotta work the room, baby.
I'm leaving to go perform in a dark, stinky chithole attached to a Best Western. For free. Open jam. Any Tom Dick and Sparky can show up with an instrument and jump in the snake pit. Improvised, usually crappy, blues by strangers.

Bring a blond wig. With pigtails. Like Heidi.
As for what you want done with the metal, we can discuss that.

Put up a wanted ad in the "parts for sale" C1&2 section at CF and I'll bet any money that one of those guys has either fabricated them or has a spare for you. There's nothing those guys haven't done, rebuilt, or relaced.
I'll do it for you if you want.

I was absolutely certain you would get a response to the original question, and pretty sure who the first taker would be. This place never disappoints. :hurray:

What does a guy walking a tight rope across the Grand Canyon and one getting a BJ from Snake keep repeating to themselves?

Pete Pm'd me last night. I gave him the work addy. Don't know if he shipped it yet though.
Being its under the car, I offered to make it from stainless or just cold rolled steel. Either way that's about 15-20 minutes to make. I checked today at work and we have material in stock very near the size he needs.
Waiting to hear back. :waiting: :cert:
