Loved that Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. Built that joker as a Revell model when I was a kid. Had the Cox gas-powered version, too.

Nice pictures; I stared at that first one for quite a while. Made me wonder what he was thinking about. Friends, family, girlfriend, kids? Maybe a buddy he had already lost? What was in store for him on the next day? Never having been in such a situation, I can't begin to imagine.
If you zoom the photo, you can see how young he appears to be. I wonder if he made it through, and if he's an old man somewhere now?

Although I literally hate and despise what went on in WWII, I love these pics. When I say I despise what went on, please don't interpret that I hate what the U.S. did; I despise what the Nazis did.
