Ever feel like the company is just not giving a shit?

We are renovating our building, the R&D group getting all of the attention. Our office in MIS is already too small but now I am told they are taking part of our office as well as the adjacent office to create a NEW office for someone who is returning... This means that 2 of us will be out in some god forsaken cube farm while the other two are crammed into an office that would be barely suitable for a SINGLE persons office. We have doubled in size company wise while we here in the MIS department have been working with the same amount of people (3 + our manager, yes he works too) for 10 years. We just now got a rec to get another body where we wouldn't have had room to put him/her in the first place, now we have to choose which one of us goes to the cube farm so new person can have the proper training....WTF...

The problem is that it's the president of the company dictating this and if it isn't R&D (His little pets) he doesn't give a shit. I guess he forgets that we are the people that keep this company moving with a 99% up time.

Just to piss me off more, an R&D puke just e-mailed me. Got him a new monitor and it didn't come with a speaker bar so I told him I would order him one.. Ordered it about 2 days ago but get this e-mail today:

"When am I getting that speaker? I can’t listen to my voicemails once they hit my email because I have no sound."

SERIOUSLY!?!?! :issues: Use your fracking phone like everyone else!

Love the company and the job but am getting REALLY sick of the entitled fcuking the rest of us over.

Rant over....for now

I would have calmly said "speakers on order, not in yet, what do YOU want me to do?" And then I would wait for his stupid ass answer.

^^^ MOVE!!

Our ShoreTel system has the option to play voicemail through PC speakers or the phone. Maybe he's a rube and doesn't know how to change the setting temporarily?

I feel your pain Mikeeee. We lost our cubes a couple years ago and now sit 4 people to an office at a single table. Some offices have up to 8 people, if they are big enough...all at a single table.

It is the "new way" we have been told and frankly, it doesn't matter to me any more. I still get paid, I still have crap to do, everyone here feels just about the same except for management, and in the long run....it's just a job.

:cert:

Don't let other people rent space in your head. Give them what they pay for and go home to those that do care about you. :yesnod:

i don't miss the corporate treadmill a bit.

they don't care about you. they might say 'we're all one big happy family', but it's BS. call me what you want, just make sure the check clears on payday and i'll do my job the best i can. but don't call me with non-work related crap. my time is my time. you want more of it? pay up sucker.

long ago, i had a supervisor ask me what my goals were: 'retire early' i told him. that's not a good goal, he said. it's not your goal, it's mine.

I had my quarterly review today and it is the same every time.

The whole process is a joke and no one knows what I do. Oh well, looks like I am about to be moved into management regardless what I want. I have been fighting that promotion for 7 years and now I think I am going to lose the battle.

I hate going to meetings. I want to work.

I picked the "retire" exit 5 years ago at age 54. No regrets here.
