I can't see a damn thing. Only one eye works now. I am in extreme pain and trying to find anything to make me stop thinking about my dang eyes.

This pretty much sums up how I feel right now being trapped in the house.

I don't know how I made it there, but at 1:55 it seems like everyone turns into pedophiles... :leaving:

Get yourself to the emergency room, man. Unless you have already seen your MD.

I have been to my doc and to an ophthalmologist.

Either way, my eyes are much worse and not sure how much longer I can deal with the pain. It is almost time to call in a friend to help me with some herbal relief.

Well, if it's due to high intraocular pressure, that may help.

Did doc recommend warm compresses or cool cucumber slices? Be careful not to cross contaminate anything or anyone. Wash your pillowcase and washclothes and towel separately and in hot water. J had mrsa.

Where the heck do you find such drivel?

Hope your peepers are peeping again Rob. I've been locked in the house for a week with a bum knee so i can relate. Went out for the first time today, now....ice on the knee. :(

Warm.

And yeah, I plan on washing some crap later today.

Dixie if you are in extreme pain NOW is the time to get to an Emergency Room and have them check you out. Yeah, we know that you have seen your Doctor and your Ophthalmologist but that was before you started complaining of great pain. You need to have yet another check of your eyes and to have some form of pain medication prescribed.

Its now a quarter to four in Mt Juliet and I, for one, would like to see a report on here at about 6:30 that you have seen the Doctor and received some medication.

Hey man, if you cannot find a doctor that can tell you what the hell is going on or how you can get some relief, have them refer you to The medical school hospital in Nashville, UAB at birmingham or somewhere. Mayo in Jax would be great also.

LisaJohn

UAB is the Callahan Eye Foundation. I have been there for a tear duct issue years ago.

Rob

How are the eyes tonight?

Better. Still draining some.

It almost seems that when I use the drops they gave me it makes them worse. The draining stops and they swell back up again and the seepage becomes a thick viscous goo.

I am tempted to stop on the drops for a day and see if the draining thins out and swelling goes down faster.

How about a quick phone call to ask the Doc?

Possibly the Nurse could just ask him real quick for you, and give you a better answer on the phone.

Woke up this morning with some funky bloody scabs sealing my eyelids closed. Had to get a hot washcloth and clean them in order to open my eyes but whoa....what a difference it is to be able to see a little more this morning.

I can tell that the eyelids did rupture overnight so hopefully this means no surgery now to open and drain them. Hopefully today they will continue to drain and my eyes will look more normal and I will be able to get clearance to leave the house again.

I hope it goes away soon so that you can get back to normal.

Yeah. Staph infections are nasty things and spread easily. I have limited myself to only a couple rooms and only a few dishes. I don't want this recurring after it is gone and don't want any coworkers getting it either.

Home from the doc!!

I am on the mend...Doc told me that my eyes look terrible but should start looking better now that they have ruptured and are draining. She wants to give it two weeks and then I will go back and they can cut out any remaining sores and drain the remaining fluids and oils in my eyes so that the pressure will go away completely.

How do they know it is a staph infection? Have they done a culture and sensitivity test? Biopsy any affected tissue? Sorry, Rob, but those are important tests to nail down a real diagnosis, so proper treatment can be rendered. Otherwise, adverse consequences may occur when the disease progresses.
Not being a wise azz here, but I care about my friends a lot. And when treatment is rendered without definitive diagnosis, I worry.

:iagree:.....a guy I know got an infection in one eye and was blind in that eye in six weeks. You don't feck around with your eyesight. :(

When I went to the Ophthalmologist on Thursday or Friday (I don't remember what day I went) last week they did some tests and told me.

Each day my eyes are so much better and draining like crazy when I lay down for some reason. I wish they would drain like that during the day.

I am not screwing around. The drops I am using are ciproflaxin something something hydrochloride and I am taking an oral antibiotic also. They eyes just itch like crazy now but I have some moisturizing drops for that also.
