I still have a SVHS deck. Right before I sold all my Laserdiscs... I copied them over to Super VHS.

We use VHS and DVD (and music cassettes) regularly. My kid doesn't think anything at all about it. :shrug:

the real craziness is that VHS was 200 lines resolution. Sony BetaMax was 240 lines. But the Sony of that time period - made it damn near impossible for anyone else to use their BetaMax technology. Thus; VHS became the standard.

BTW, SVHS is 400 lines :)
