Millenium Films Producer Avi Lerner (The Expendables, Bad Lieutenant) has told Empire Magazine that he has chosen a director and a star for the off-again-on-again remake of Red Sonja, to be filmed between the just completed Conan The Barbarian remake and the planned Conan sequel.

Simon West (Con-Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) will direct and the slimmie in the slip up top there is Amber Heard (Pineapple Express, Drive Angry), the actress tipped to wear almost nothing while kicking ass, by Crom!

One problem. Heard has just been cast to play a Playboy Bunny in NBC's pilot Playboy, a potential drama series set in the NYC Playboy Club. If the show goes to series it may mean Heard has to pass on the Barbarian chick.

That would be a shame.

I always figured that any chick playing a role like that of Red Sonja should be, oh...I don't know, fit? This chick is built for modeling, but not for fighting. There are plenty of hot fitness models out there. Find one who acts well and use her.
