Merrimack police: Punxsutawney Phil captured

MERRIMACK, N.H. —One of New Hampshire's most wanted fugitives is in custody. Merrimack police tell News 9 that Punxsutawney Phil has been captured.

The Merrimack Police Department posted an arrest warrant for the famous groundhog last month, holding him responsible for what it said was a misleading winter forecast.

In the post, police said Phil should be considered armed and dangerous and the public should not approach him.

On Wednesday, the department announced it had captured Phil.
