I would be having to explain to the insurance company why I lit my house on fire and it really wasn't arson.

We have them that big here, and they say they are good to eat as all they eat for the most part is coconuts.

I have not tried one yet, but other than I heard a rumor that was where ebola started from... I might have tried it before.

Ok in that case, I agree there would need to be a change of underwear.

Man, they have big ass bats like that in Okinawa and they shit everywhere. They roost in trees close to the road on base, and swarm around them at night like bees.

We used to watch the Marianas fruit bats fly around our jungle office in Guam. They are about the same size. Harmless of course, but they are one big ass flying rat!

This post just made me google it, that rumor appears to have some validity to it, as they're found to cary the virus, though it didsay cooking the meat would probaby kill the virus, however butchering and handlig the raw meat could be very dangerout.

Good gawd don't tell these guys that. Do you have any idea how many will start hanging upside down from their gutters taking selfies in hopes now?
Well, I mean more than usual......

Yep, Oki had fruit bats. had one fly over my car one night going onto Kadena that had a wing span at least as wide as my windshield. I always tell my girls, "little bats flit but big bats flap just like birds."

They are noisy as hell too. While we were on Hayman Island on the Outer GBR, they would fly over at dusk every night.

Then had to listen to these noisy f'ers in the daytime. Not much sleep while we were there.

I don't know about that particular specie but if you see one hanging around in the day time it's most likely sick. And by sick, being a bat, it probably means rabies.

If I knew it was there, not a problem, but if surprised, I think I would s#it my pants.
