Sure wish I could get a taste of this, but that would be $500 - $1000 or so per dram!!

It would certainly be awesome to try it although I get hung up on the hype surrounding some of the ultra high dollar scotch offerings.

I can understand the value based on rarity/availability but there's no way it's 160 times better than a Mac 18. :Jeff '79:

I did spring for a bottle of this a few months ago and it is pretty damn smooth.

I'm still enjoying the Aberlour you recommended a while back. The A'bunadh is a nice spin off. :yum:

Thanks Scott!

My usual "go to" has been the Balvenie Doublewood, 12 YO, and sooooo smooth!
And I recently acquired a fantastic Balvenie Madeira Cask, 17 YO, and really needs to be cut a little with water, but excellent drink! Also a couple of bottles of Glenlivet Nadurra (cask) is in the wings next!

My "daily" if you can call it that is a Japanese whisky (can't call it scotch) called Yamazaki. I also have a Bunnahabhim 30 YO, Glen Devoron 20, Dalwhinney, Auchentishon 14 and 20 YO, and a bit of Macallan 21 YO I'm saving.

I've been getting into really good Rums lately. I have 3 types of Australian Bundaberg and several Caribbean rums.

Meet Tanduay 5 years Dark..

At the left is what we call a long neck, it cost about 95 peso, sometimes 100p and is 750 ML which makes two pictures

At the right is the 375 ML bottle that cost 45 to 50p (about one US dollar)

Beats me why they call it five years, but takes at least 5 days to get here from the factory so I'll go with that.. :datawiz:

This is the Tanduay 65, and some people call it embalming fluid, it is the most popular cheap Rhum in the Philippines, but I only drink it myself if already drunk and can't get the 5 year.

Rot gut, or Rock gut, not sure what you wanna call it.. but it is cheap at about 35 peso a bottle and that includes our recent sin tax

I tried an Auchentoshan blend that was fairly pricey but tasted harsh and like a mish mash of flavors.
The Bunn 30 must be smooth with an excellent aroma.

What rums have you been trying?

Big rum fan here. I've been sipping these for the last year.

Another vote for the Pryat Rum.
Scotch is my normal drink but Pyrat is one smooth rum. Sip it neat

There is an Aussie guy that comes through here now and then that brings some Bundaberg Rum sometimes.. and I have to say that is some excellent stuffs. :seasix:

Way more kick than our local Rhum, and so tasty you can enjoy it on the rocks.

Biggest thing about Bundaberg, you can't get it here in the US. My next door neighbor has to travel to Brisbane on business so he keeps me supplied. I keep his drive and sidewalk plowed. I think I make out in the transaction.

I don't drink a lot. But I do like Johnny Walker Black on the rocks occasionally. I did have 3 Heineken beers last night. :cert:

Nice! Looks like a very good collection. I'll have to try it sometime if I can get my hands on it.

Danielle and I toured the Cruzan plant in St. Croix a few years back. Very cool tour with tasting afterward. :shots:
