Got my first one today before noon. Was miserable for 5 hours and then it basically went away. Forgot to ask doc if I can drink Gatoraid.

Did you pass it or was it just moving around? I've had them off/on for 25 yrs.

After my last physical they said I have some but don't know when they will decide to move. They said they are in an area that they may never move but they said they will keep an eye on them during each examination.

I guess if they aren't worried I shouldn't be either.

You need to try to catch it. The dr should have given you a screen to pee through.

Only by catching the stone can you determine the type, and thus see if there is anything you can do to prevent future stones.

Got the screen. Looks like it's broken up cause I got one tiny piece and then the next time what looks like a few specks of grit. White to clear.

Wrap it in clean Saran wrap and send it off for analysis. Then follow up with your Dr.

I had one a few years ago. Didn't know what it was at first. I looked up symptoms online, and I eventually felt it pass. It was small, so it didn't hurt that bad, but the discomfort in my kidney was pretty bad for several hours. Hope you feel better man!

Gatoraid?......tons of salt in that stuff. I wouldn't touch it if I were you. Drink water, and if you want flavour add a touch of that squirt stuff. :yesnod:

I've had 4 major episodes with stones... passed two, had surgery for two. My problem is I don't drink enough fluids. That's one mother of a pain. Seems like I get one every 4 to 5 years.

Water. Lots of it. Even if you don't feel thirsty. Drink it throughout the day. I have stone and gout problems from not drinking enough water. Simple fix. Just have to remind myself every hour or so to drink a glass.

Mix tablespoon of cream of tar tar with 6 ounces of pure lemon juice ,tar tar will coat the stone and the lemon will help desolve it,easy to pass.:yesnod:

My last one from May last year. It was a 4x6mm and involved lithotripsy surgey to pass. That's a penny under he glass jar to show a comparison of size.

Several years ago I had a 9mm one that I had to get lithotripsy on also. Ironically I didn't initially feel that one, but was pissing blood. The bad part of them blowing it up was it went from 1 9mm one to MANY smaller ones that took days to get out. OMG that hurt like hell. Pissing out sand!!!

I had one a few years prior to this one. I did the strainer thing. Wrapped it in some plastic wrap, but sadly dropped it in the back seat... it got mixed in with some sesame seeds from a bun or other stones. Not sure what they ended up doing the test on. :leaving: :lol:
