This guy talks slow. But, if you click the widget that looks like a gear at the bottom right of the HTML5 video control, you can set the playback speed to 2x. Then play the video. He sounds completely normal.

Click play, then pause. Lower right there is a YouTube thing, and to the left of it is a gear-shaped icon/widget that you can click on and change the playback speed. This assumes you are playing as HTML5, which is what this video defaults to under the current forum settings. I'm using Chrome, BTW.
You can set Chrome (or other browsers) to play YouTube videos in HTML5 by default by visiting this page (https://www.youtube.com/html5) and making HTML5 playback the default.

....he wasn't too slow not to hit on the reporter at the end!
Maybe that's why he still has a full head of hair....everything's happening in slow motion, including losing his hair.
I once stopped to ask for directions in Alabama, and this old country guy in overalls and a straw hat talked exactly like that. Well, before he was half way through the directions I had forgotten all the first half....just kept nodding my head like I got everything, then I said thanks very much and went back to the truck shaking my head, still no clue where I was....

Uh, OK, you don't count. Pretty sure IE8 and HTML5 aren't really friends. I would suggest upgrading at some point there young man. :D

Have you considered at least putting Chrome on that antique? You'll then have the ability to connect to secure https servers running 256 bit or higher AES encryption (unlike IE8) and also have most of HTML5 functionality. Plus it's more secure. A lot more secure. A. Lot.

I use FireFox as a backup browser.
But, I never update solely because Microsoft says to; only when I absolutely have to.

Well, that's not really saving you much considering there hasn't been any updates to XP for a year now.
MS has totally stopped support for XP. That means all the security fixes applied to IE are a year out of date - meaning IE8 is about as secure as a block of swiss cheese. IE is the most heavily targeted browser, and IE8 in particular is really heavily targeted because XP can't run anything beyond IE8 and any security breaches discovered in the last year will never be plugged. So when you hit a suspicious site using IE8 running on XP, they of course detect that (trivial) and you can almost see them rubbing their hands together.

MS has totally stopped support for XP.
what does that mean; that XP de-installs itself on a particular date?
:)
for my home machine; the point is moot. I ran 98 for many - many years after the "sales promotion - disguised as a scare tactic" warning. Will do the same with XP. EVERYTHING WORKS right now, including some old programs that aren't easy to replace (developers are out of business). If the first issue is not being able to run YT in the 2x mode... well...
moot.

It just means that any and all security holes discovered by hackers in the last year are completely open and unfixed by Microsoft, so they know for a fact when you hit their server that they can send an attack and there's nothing that will stop it most likely, because they can use an IE8 exploit and bypass any anti-virus stuff most likely.
I still have an XP box here, I turn it on occasionally for certain reasons but it is so painfully slow compared to my Win7 desktop that it's simply a joke. For instance, it takes about 10 minutes for it to fully boot up and start all the stuff. My Win7 box boots in, oh, 45 seconds or so? I'm not talking getting to the logon screen, I'm talking to where stuff isn't still loading in the background after logging in. And that XP box is a dual-core running at 2.8 GHz with 4 GB RAM, it's no slouch.
HOLY CRAP TWO DEER JUST RAN BY MY OFFICE WINDOW!
Anyway, personally I would advise against running XP, especially if using IE8, to browse the interwebs. It would be so easy to pick up malware like a key logger that they could use to scrape all your logins/passwords. I would give this advice to anyone.
