They're from the 1970s. They started with My Name is Nobody, then My name is Trinity, Trinity is Still my Name, and on and on for 12 movies. Directed by Sergio Leone Of the Clint Eastwood "Spaghetti Westerns" fame. the Trinity movies proved to be very popular all over the world. It helped that big name star Henry Fonda appeared in My Name is Nobody as a gunslinger who wanted out of that game. Fonda played Jack Beauregard, once the greatest gunslinger of the Old West, who only wants to move to Europe and retire in peace. But a young gunfighter, known only as "Nobody", idolizes him and wants to see him go out in a blaze of glory. These movies are a fine parody of the Spaghetti Western.

Terrance Hill played Trinity, and Bud Spencer was his burly sidekick. Here's a scene that illustrates just how cool and outrageous Trinity is:

"Once Upon A Time In The West" Spaghetti at it's best, I still can remember the haunting music.

1. My Name Is Nobody, directed by Sergio Leone, is not a Trinity film.

2. They Call Me Trinity (1970), Trinity Is Still My Name (1971) and Sons Of Trinity (1995) are the only actual Trinity films. They are directed by Enzo Barboni.

How so? It stars Terrence Hill in the same role he had in the Trinity movies. Whether Sergio Leone actually directed it is debatable. He is credited as writer, but he probably did direct several scenes in the movie. IMBD says that the director was Tonini Valerii.

It says on the poster "That "Trinity" Star Is Out To Make A Legend In His Own (Good) Time!"

The film is obviously trying to trade on the popularity of the Trinity films, but makes it clear that it is not one of them.

Many films attempted to trade on the Trinity name, or on Terrence Hill's presence within them, but make no mistake, the characters of Trinity and Bambino are Barboni's creation and the Barboni directed films They Call Me Trinity, Trinity Is Still My Name and Sons Of Trinity are the only true films in the series.

Edit: One more thing...

They started with My Name is Nobody...

My Name Is Nobody came out in 1973. The Trinity films (except for the reboot in 1995) came out in 1970 and 1971.

If I am being a pompous asshole about this, I apologize. Sometimes I cannot see that in myself, and my passion for movie knowledge gets the better of me...

Love those movies. Another great Parody is Oscar. Not a parody of a western though.
