I can see why you could like these vehicles. Avis gave me one with 4 miles on it as a rental tonight in Denver. I even got a great whiff of the exhaust finish as I blitzed around 470 at 75 mph on the way to the hotel. Supposed to get some good snow tonight and tomorrow, so it should be fun to play with. I probably won't ever get another SUV because my towing needs are too much, but this is a pretty nice ride.

Had an 04 Z71 4x4 Tahoe new...

probably the best, most versatile vehicles I have ever owned.

Just got rid of my 99 Yukon with about a billion miles on it... loved that thing and it was rock solid reliable.

While I like the Tahoe, I love the Avalanche.

to each their own

but I never understood the Avalanche...why not just get a 4 door pickup?

Because it's based on the Suburban platform, not a truck platform. It's much more versatile than a truck. Rides better too.

Probably whatever the Suburban has. You can remove the covers over the bed, remove the rear window, lower the rear seat to have it open to the bed, has storage compartments on each side of the bed with drains so when you load them with ice and drinks it will drain, and the tailgate and bed have tracks for the 4 wheeler to get traction. Avalanches are awesome. :above:

I don't know. I've driven both in the same places and enjoyed both, but the Avalanche was a more comfortable ride.

'02 Avalanche and '08 GMC Sierra.

With cladding on the older ones is good for going through brush and stuff. The plastic takes the abuse.

I like the looks better on the newest bodystyle.
