John Milius.
Ever heard these lines?
"Go Ahead, Make My Day"
"Do You Feel Lucky Punk?"
"I Love the Smell of Napalm in the Morning"
"Charlie Don't Surf!"
yQljnlWW9j4
Remember the speech about the USS Indianapolis by Robert Shaw in Jaws? Milius had his hand in that.
The choice of using a 44 Magnum Model 29 Smith in Dirty Harry? That was Milius (he was also an NRA board member with Heston)
The Big Lebowski? Walter (John Goodman) was based on Milius. :yesnod:
American Graffiti? Milner's character was based on Milius. :yesnod:
He wrote the script for Jeremiah Johnson. He requested that a portion of his compensation be paid in Antique Firearms.
He rewrote the script for Magnum Force only after the studio agreed to purchase an expensive firearm for him.
I love this guy. :)

There are a few conservatives out there but they are few and far between.

And judging by the careers they have had, one could hardly say they were blacklisted.
When Dennis Miller was asked whether his conservative views made it difficult to find work, he said "In this town you live or die by whether you sell tickets or not. Period."

Milius suffers from Gilliam Syndrome. Hollywood doesn't 'get' him.

They're out there but the cameras get turned off or major editing is done before we ever see it.

Of course his time was back in the day of the war movie and the country was still in a Patriotic state.
I understand Hollywood used to be a conservative town. Until the leftists took over.
Same with newspapers. TV. Schools. Music. Even the churches.

He was actually a Liberal before he became Conservative.
A supporter of Democratic politicians and civil rights in the 1960s, Heston eventually rejected liberalism, becoming a Republican, founding a conservative political action committee and supporting Ronald Reagan. Heston's most famous role in politics came as the five-term president of the National Rifle Association from 1998 to 2003. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, he retired from both acting and being the NRA president in 2003, and died of complications of pneumonia in 2008.

I have heard a statement that in fact most of Hollywood is conservative, which makes sense in that they actually worked/learned/did something to attain their jobs/fame....but the nature of a conservative is that they too busy making a living to go spouting off all that wacko liberal crap that is antithesis to their work ethic.....you get some head jobs like Streisand promoted over their heads....and they grab the mic and mouth off.....
