Is it possible to text a cell phone from a computer using email somehow? :confused:

I use Google voice for this. People text my Google Number and I can reply to their cell phone through Gmail.

Generally it's the 10 digit phone number@phone co subdomain....(You might have to dig to find that latter part exactly).

For example, an AT&T subscriber with the number (555)123-4567 can be texted at [email protected] or [email protected].

It's probably easiest to acquire this address by initiating from the cell phone...The text feature on most phones will send to an email address just the same as a phone #.
If this is someone you're in regular contact with, tell them to open their texts, enter your email (in place of phone#), type message, send. You as the recipient will then see the sender address in email form.

Ya, thanks for the help, now I have to find out what the canadian carriers are called short form. Rogers, Fido, Shaw, and on and on....? :(
