called Prednisone (a corticorsteroid) be aware of side effects. Over 2 weeks ago I had a case of the flu followed by bronchitis. This medicine is to clear lung passageways to me it easier to breathe. It's also a powerful appetite stimulant. My typical day's food is like this:

Breakfast
Immediately open a can of whole cashews and consume them by day's end
Lunch
More cashews and several bite-sized Milky Ways, Snickers, and Twix bars
A can of boiled peanuts
2 Cokes throughout the day
Dinner (a large pizza)
More candy bars and cashews
I go to bed feeling hungry

I took 11 tablets per day, for one year, before the dosage was reduced. I finally stopped taking it on my own (and hid it from my doctor for a couple of years before I finally confessed to him. He actually was relieved that I took it upon myself to stop taking it).

At age 29, I got cataracts in both eyes due to Prednisone (among other ailments)

Back about a year and a half ago when I was having those lung issues they had me on them and I was cranked out. The good thing is, I would use the time cleaning and reading since I was no longer sleeping.

In some ways it is fun...but when they cut the cord.....the crash and weight gain catches up quickly. Be careful what all you eat. :seasix:

in that wedding pic, you can see my puffy cheeks (on my face - you pervs) from the Pred. Your appetite goes nuclear, your ulcers start bleeding, you don't need as much sleep. It also causes your hair to fall out.

Prednisone; truly a necessary evil.

I took it for a month before I stopped. Nasty shit. At 32 years of age, I took it to correct a problem with my palettes being too low. In just a 2 weeks, I broke out with pimples, eating like a horse, and difficult time going to sleep. I had to be doing something.

I tried to quit cold turkey, but that was a mistake. I had to ween myself off of it using smaller doses for a week period. I'll never take that shit again.

I've had it a few times, but just for a week each, where you start with 3 or 4 a day and by the last day you take one. Works great, you'll feel great, but it is detrimental to your health long term. Best to take only when needed, and for as short a time as you can get away with.

My uncle used to be on that stuff, went from being a very thin guy to being extremely bloated. They reduced the amount of medication he was on, and his weight is back to normal.
