He and his football team buddies went to Hooters this afternoon for lunch.

He knew his old man was home studying.

He comes back with an order of Chicken Wings for me to eat while watching the Super Bowl.

I just love my boy.

IC, what are you studying? In the middle of a career change?

Yes and no. I'd been doing System Administration work at several engineering companies that I worked at. Usually, I just fell into it because I knew more about the systems that run computer aided design software than the average bear.

Since my last company shut its doors in the economy, I figured it was time to finish my BS in Information Systems and since I was fortunate enough to be in a position to do so, I went back to school (UT Arlington) full time. I graduate in December.

Is this the same kid you just grounded for two months?

He's gonna be in sales someday and support the whole family.

Hahaha...I wish.

There's also another part to this. I have told both my children that that I expect them to attend college and get their degrees. Thought it was best if I led by example.

It's tough...but worth it.

Excellent move! I did that about 15 years ago, then stuck around and picked up my MS. I got used to going to school and didn't want to stop. :yesnod: But now I wouldn't go back on a bet!

I certainly hope so.

Actually...there was a grade error. Has to do with the way grades are reported online. I had to eat a little crow over that one. :leaving:

Let's see if I got this right: You got a Bulshit (BS) in in Information Systems. Then UnclePervey says you can get a "More of the Same" (MS) degree. Can You get a "Piled Higher and Deeper" (PhD) degree? Old, old joke, but congrats on what you and your kids are doing!

BTW, I feel so proud of myself; I just got a "You may be happier on another forum" message from Jaguarforums.com. Isn't that worth a few extra points in some category? :D
