Guy is going to be using a C7 z06 for a winter beater

My "winter beater" is a 2015 Corvette Z06 (http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/road-tests/reviews/a24841/2015-chevrolet-corvette-z06-long-term-intro/)

Erp, all that salt flying up on that car makes me a little sick inside.

First time the snow gets above about 3 inches we will see how far he can plow it.

Maybe the salt spray will help hide the Camaro tail lights. :yesnod:

Why? Because they're black?

Don't those brakes need a little heat to even work correctly? :willy:

I've been driving the C5 in snow/ice. Summer tires make it fun.

The active handling/traction control message was on pretty much solid from driveway to parking garage. :D

I drive my C4 all year. It's a car...

I can't drive mine much in the winter, it's too dark in the morning and the heat doesn't work.

Can't be any worse than when I drove my c6 across Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado in February.

Best non-4WD vehicle I've had in the snow

Those are actually Snide's old snow tires in that pic. Had to replace them this year.

:iagree:

I drove my '87 year round in Northern Indiana/Chicago winters for years and used the C5Z as a year 'round car through 6-7 winters... never changed a tire to do so.

I had BFG Comp T/A VR4s on the C4 and either Potenza RE050A or Michelin PS2s on the Z06.

I can think of about 2 times when the car wasn't up to it. It's a car. They both actually did surprisingly well. No worse than any other RWD out there and actually better than some others I have driven (Mustangs, Camaros) in those conditions.

I drove my C5Z through snow on the way back to Houston in far west Texas. I plowed some snow/ice going over a couple small bridges. It sucked.

That's the best part. You never have to drive through deep snow. The car just plows the deeper stuff out of the way. The nose cuts into drifts like nobody's business!
