More sleet last night; it blew onto the cars in the portico, and the doors are frozen shut. Oh, well...don't need to be going anywhere anyway. I've got a good fire going in the fireplace

I think I'll make some hot chocolate. Can't decide on this

or this

Might do a little painting later

Then maybe sort through my hunting gear

That should keep me busy. Have a good day!

I have many great memories of Santa Rosa Island vacations. There used to be a family restaurant just across the toll bridge (Butler's?) where I'd eat until I had to be wheelbarrowed out.
Folly of the young: GF and I were laying on the beach there when suddenly the sky turned black. We decided to go back to the motel; when we got back up to where my car was parked, there was traffic as far as one could see. Finally made it to the motel, which was locked! Turns out a hurricane was on the way (kids do not watch weather reports). We drove back home (6 hours) in our bathing suits and $20 for gas and food. Ahhh! The good ole days!

It was around 1985-6. Mostly I remember the hot l'il redhead who was with me. She was the choral director at a local high school, prim and proper, even wore her hair in a bun. But, oh Lord, when she let her hair down....!
You happen to remember the name of the hurricane?
