Was a disco last night here again over in Sillion and also tonight.. so I figured we would go tonight if you get here.

There is a decent little resort place over there near Hagnaya if you come up and get stuck there.

Anyway...the stripes on the road are just paint and don't mean a thing. It is likely my last meal could be Jollibee, and I'm ok with that.

My mother in law was on her way home from here about a year ago when her bus ran over a motorcycle and killed a guy.. :(

More than once I have had to sit next to someone on the bus with a fighting rooster on their lap.. :lol:

The commandos had entered the far-flung village of Tukanalipao at dawn looking for a top terror suspect, but had a "misencounter" with members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and other insurgents, Mayor Tahirudin Benzar Ampatuan of Mamasapano town told The Associated Press by telephone

Other insurgents in the area later joined in fighting the outnumbered police forces, the mayor said.

The Moro group signed a peace deal with the government last year.

Ampatuan, the Moro group and military officials said the police commandos did not coordinate their plan to enter the Muslim rebel village before sunrise, apparently resulting in the fierce fighting.

The fighting in the marshy village of corn and coconut plantations subsided after several hours when members of a cease-fire committee and foreign truce monitors intervened, Ampatuan said, adding he deployed a team of village leaders and guards, who saw more than 30 of the slain commandos scattered in the battle scene.

"What they described to me was gruesome," Ampatuan said.

At least two Philippine security officials told The AP that the target of the police commandos was Zulkifli bin Hir, a Malaysian terror suspect known also as Marwan, who has been blamed by U.S. and Philippine authorities for several deadly bombings. Marwan is believed to have been hiding in the country's south since 2003.

The two officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to reporters about operations to capture Marwan, who they said may have been wounded or killed in Sunday's fighting.

The villagers managed to extricate only five of policemen's bodies by nightfall because they were afraid of their safety amid sporadic gunfire and the darkness in the village, which was 1.2 to 1.9 miles from the nearest main road, Ampatuan said.

It remains unclear how many police commandos entered the village, he said, adding the death toll may increase

Just got back from a run this morning. Knocked out a 5k I guess, my watch died about 1 mile into the run but it is charging now so I can keep track better tomorrow.

Already been offered some rhum as soon as I got back from running. Couple of the guys from last night are still here drinking.

That attack looks like it was down south. I would not think there is much of that here. The people here are by far the nicest people you can meet. Even along my run I saw some people riding their motor while I was running and they slowed down to shake my hand and then ride beside me the rest of my run. Felt good to have the escorts and see some familiar faces again.

If you ever come here, you will have friends for life. There really are no words that explain how great it feels to step away from things and into a place where people matter the most.

Fluffy is my kids dog, but mainly he is my oldest daughter Aaliyah's

I call him Stoopy and he knows it's also his name..

Aaliyah brought it home as a puppy and asked if she could keep it.. I told her no!

I didn't want a dog making poo in the yard all of the time, and I didn't want to hear it barking.

After a month or so of telling my daughter almost daily that she could not keep it, and to take it back to the people who gave it to her, she still ignored me and I just finally just gave in.

I lived there in the city for about 3 years and had a small multi-cab truck so know my way driving around pretty well.

Haven't had a car in years now and don't really need one, but it would be handy at times like shuffling people back and forth to the pier.

I'm thinking I will get an old jeep to fix up when funds permit.

Yeah that suxs running out of water.. it happened last year about this time of the year also, I'm thinking maybe because the tide seems to be at it's lowest point of the year.. :island14:

We seem to have enough water now for the well pump to work normal again as long as they don't use it for laundry.

I will probably take Stoopy with us the next time we go swimming so he at least gets a salt water bath. :D

Really is a beautiful country and each time I go I see something new. Next trip I think I might venture out to some of the other islands to see what all they have to offer. I did notice that my hotel in Cebu has a swim with the whale sharks trip that is a half day for about $40 U.S.

It was our annual Sinulog Festival here in our village, which starts as a parade here in our village, and goes over to the next village, then back to another neighbor village, then back again here to our basketball court (Town Square) :lol:

They have a dance contest of teams putting on a show that has cash prizes so everyone practices for weeks in advance and works hard to win.

Really is a beautiful country and each time I go I see something new. Next trip I think I might venture out to some of the other islands to see what all they have to offer. I did notice that my hotel in Cebu has a swim with the whale sharks trip that is a half day for about $40 U.S.

I have lots of pics on my camera that have not even made it to FB yet. Just tried to snap a couple with my phone everywhere I went so people could keep up with what I was doing each day.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of your pics here along with the videos when you wake up and have the time.

Tata especially wants to see the video of his daughter Janna's team dancing.
