This guy I work with asked me which car company treats it's customers best. Best customer service before during and after the sale. Best service department experience, etc.
The guy knows zip about cars, and while I could make a recommendation of some good choices of vehicle, the customer service is what he is most interested in.
Do you guys have any solid info on who treats their customers best?
Your help is appreciated.

i've only dealt with various local dealers, and that's a crap shoot. never dealt with the actual MFR.

buy what you want and deal with problems as they arise. if you get a really good car, you won't have to deal with the MFR for anything, and the dealer only for normal service.

Not honda...
Not Toyota
NOT CHEVY....

People seem to have fair reviews for dodge, and ram trucks...at least locally

I am surprised that Buick, GMC and Chevy did so well, and Subaru so poorly. Subaru has always had terrific brand loyalty.

Cadillac treats you pretty damn good. At least the two dealers I've dealt with have. And one is also a Chevy dealer, and people bitch about their Chevy service. Pays to drive $$$ into their service bay apparently......:D

Saturn was great back in 1996. Last car I bought from a dealer. Car Max has been good to me for the last 3 purchases.

Your experience is going to depend on your local dealer.

Acura has been very good, the only complaint I have is that every time I bring it in for my "free" oil change, I never get out for less than $200 it seems. Things like cabin filter, wiper blades, transmission fluid, differential fluid, whatever little odds and ends that need service, so I don't mind that. They give me a loaner car (last time a 2015 MDX), text me when it's ready, and it's "quick" detailed when I get it. I could pay a bit more and they'd do a full detail.

By far our best experience has been with Lexus. Had an E350 for a while and the Benz dealer always acted like they were doing us a favor talking to us when we took the car in. The Lexus and Benz dealers were both part of the same company.

Just went with an Acura so we will see how that goes.

Lexus for sure. Owned a CPO Rx400h, and loved the ownership experience at the dealership.

So far the two service departments I've taken a BMW to have been very professional and great service.

When I bought my BMW, I never stepped foot in the dealership. They brought me the paperwork and the car. The first time I ever went to the dealership, was when I got my oil changed.

I've always heard that both Rolls-Royce and Bentley have both amazing sales and aftermarket assistance. There is a steep buy-in on both but nothing that cannot be accomplished by a high-stepper such as yourself or your co-worker.

I have only negative feedback for Lexus. I don't own one, but my daughter has one I bought for her. Not technically true since it is titled to me but she pays for it and drives it. Her 2009 IS250 needed an engine overhaul at 45,000 miles; direct injection had ruined the engine. We were given a choice: Rebuild the engine at our expense ($7,000) or Lexus would rebuild it once for free but not again.

You know it's gonna need it again. No more Lexi for me.

Just leased a BMW for the wife.Everything but gas and tires is covered.Anytime we bring the car in for service we will get a loaner and they will wash and vacuum it once the service is done.
Just got an email from them and we have within 90 days to come back for a one on one session for being a new owner and they will go over any quirks or functions of the car and when we are done the car will be filled with gas.
So far we are very happy and its a big change from buying Chevy's/GMC in the past.

This.

The local BMW/Lexus dealer is run by a psycho and every visit is unpredictable. My last hi line was a BMW and I drove 100 + miles for sevice.

On the other hand, my last 2 trucks have been F250s and my local Ford dealer has been excellent.

A very known problem with those motors.Did you deal with the dealership only or did you call customer service.I know Toyota's have 60 months/60,000 miles powertrain i'm sure it should be the same with Lexus.

Subarus, and their owners, are a little quirky. They're not in it for the customer service and dealership experience.

The Field's group owns both the local BMW and MINI dealerships. Best customer experience I've ever had hands down. Both places are well run and well kept.

I think a dealerships CS is really weighed by the customer's expectations more than anything. Different brands attract different customers with differing expectations. Perfectly logical to me that our BMW dealer blows away the local Chevy dealer.
