I don't really see anything up around town for Christmas decorations except for displays in stores that are advertising crap at prices that are much too high.

Does it seem like just another Hallmark Holiday where you all are?

Seems like the same ole Christmas to me. After all, we've been celebrating it for a few thousand years now, so the newness does fade a bit. It's good enough for me, though.

I think it's more like just a couple thousand years.

This Christmas, I'll give my heart to Jesus, not a store.

You are certainly correct. I just hope that we can see a "few" or "several" thousand years, though.

I've had Christmas years like you're describing in my earlier life and it's always a hard time of year for some folks.

I've been enjoying my little ones and #3 due any day. :hurray:

When times get rough and life seems to test my resolve, I always have my girls to fall back on. Although oddly enough, I seem to be their hero.

Kelly Clarkson's tune still gets me misty-eyed, though.

I'm seeing decorated houses everywhere. This is the first year, though, that I haven't just had to have something. I always want something...

Christmas was always a special exciting time for me when I was a kid.

I think the toys were just a part of it, but most important was the whole family coming together for that one special day.

During that time of the year driving around with the family just to see the decorations people had done to their homes, the songs Mom always had playing on her record player every year.

You could just feel the season in the air everywhere you went.

When I grew older it seemed less and less exciting each year, until I had my own kids.

Then I realized that it was my turn to help make it special for them.

I think for some people who are single and alone, it could be a sad time of the year for them.

For me I am very happy to be blessed with a wonderful family.

Tim, I highly encourage you to be Santa there this year. :santa:

The eyes looking up from the basketball court and the smiles and warmth of a child hugging you, saying thank you, and blessing you for what is a small token to us, means all the world to them.

For the hours I sat up there last year, there were many moments I wanted to break down and cry because I saw Joy through the eyes of those children and knew it had been created by the people here with love and charity.

Do yourself a favor this year, give yourself this one gift that will bless you and remain in your heart forever.

I believe in ancient aliens. The gods that were spoke of in the past were an advanced civilization. They did not have the prime directive not to interfere with primitive cultures...

I pulled out a few decorations but not the boxed up fake tree we have not used for a couple years now.....all this family crap, and losing her car a couple years ago has made her so depressed....and not a damn thing I can do to make her happier......I think the hits will stop and we can get on an even keel again, but NO.....freeking stupid, just stupid, and the .gov is at fault for the vast majority of it.....I get pissed off just thinking about it.....:issues::sadangel:
