I've been out of town the last week and a half, so Mom had been taking care of the dog and two cats.

Well, it's been a fairly interesting Thanksgiving here at Chez Daniels. Mom and I had plans to have dinner with my next door neighbors and another set of neighbors. Well, Wednesday night, I came down with, I don't know what, but I was pretty knocked out from Wed. night until this morning, except for driving to pick up Mom and bring here here. I was so sick I didn't even make it to the dinner, and I consider myself lucky that I made the drive both ways safely.

But, really, that isn't why you clicked on this thread, is it? Is it?

So, I am going to bring Mom back home today ( Ifeel better, but still weak, and thanks for asking) when she says she will take the kitten AND the cat left by my ex-gf. Woo hoo, clean sweep. Except now I think I miss the little mousers. I kinda got attached to them.

Anyway, fast forward a few hours. Frantic call from Mom.....can't find the kitten. I'm sure she didn't get out. Just now, another call. EXTRA frantic.....no kitten. She speculates, "well, you went in the attic to turn up the temp on the hot water, maybe she is up there." OK, so I tell her to check the attic. Sure enough, little Fuzzball had been up there all this time.

And she complained about the stress of taking care of my dog when I was out of town. Sheesh!

We stuck with two cats, BO the larger brother jumps on the bed and pounces on my arms at ~4 am every damn morning, wife usually vacates the bed for the LR couch or lounge chair so she can sleep, I tolerate that little bastard for until about 8 am....

NOW the little sister, Diddly jumps on wife every time she in lounge chair....

just WHO??? runs this house???

Bill, you have to face it and live with it: Cats are smarter and trickier than we are. It's just their everyday reminder of that they are compelled to give. They do things that could cost them their life, and it's all your fault for not being able to figure it out. Got it?

Now go get your cats. They want to be with you.

I'll still get to see them when I visit. I think they will miss being outside, though, since I know Mom will never let them out. Still, I know they found a good home. She says her cat who hates everyone, including me, seems to have taken a liking to them.

Yes. you can visit them. But they won't love you any more. :sadangel:

The 2 kittens that showed up this summer have taken to me. They sleep on me every night. I need to get them spayed...

So I broached the subject of getting the cats back from Mom.....

She was having a frustrating day with Fuzz tearing down her Christmas decorations....I think she is thinking about it.

Hah, you cannot have Christmas ornaments around young cats. Heck, even old cats. It's like letting an alcoholic stay in your liquor store's back room.

It would be like cooking a turkey and then sitting it on the floor next to your dog, saying "Stay!"

:iagree: It takes about a day for a cat to turn tinsel into a string of pearls. :funny:
