today? Such as cranberries (raw and cook yourself) with pineapple preserves and horseradish. Or yams baked with sweet kraut and walnut crumble. Or Turkey Cake (it's layered like a cake, but each layer is a traditional Thanksgiving dish like turkey hash--to make slicing easier--, dressing, yams, cranberry sauce, and iced with mashed potatoes...and topped with miniature marshmallows, of course).
I've actually had all of those dishes, and they're as nasty as they sound. But the hosts were very proud of their creations.
Some dishes are better left alone.

My stepdaughter has pretty much taken over the kitchen today. She's a great cook, but she will cook some things today that I don't care for, as well as the traditional stuff. As I mentioned before, we will be cooking two turkeys, so I won't have to eat the one she cooks that will probably taste like a rosemary bush.:yesnod:
I just passed through the kitchen and she is making a salad, which I don't think belongs on a Thanksgiving table, and she is doing something with brussel sprouts, which might be good. There will be something everybody likes, and I'm sure no one will leave here hungry.

Does Fancy Ketchup count?
:sadangel:
There was a taste test done with ketchup not too long ago. People preferred Heinz 100 to 1 over the "designer" ketchups.

Had a can of collards and a slice of cold pizza
Just the regular fixins.
I made a crumb crust apple pie that ended up apple cobbler. :Jeff '79:
I went to three thanksgiving dinners today. Thank goodness they weren't fancy. One was non-traditional in the fact that they had roast instead of turkey.
