Lost my health insurance when I lost my job in January. I have eczema, for which I need a steroidal cream. Without insurance, I put it off and off, but finally had to bite the bullet and buy it at the going rate.
1 60-gram tube of Clobetasol ointment used to cost me $30-40 with my old insurance. When I bought it without, it was $332. Unfortunately, that tube is getting low, and I still have four more refills.
After the purchase in September, I googled coupons for that medicine and found this site: Prices, Coupons and Information - GoodRx (http://www.goodrx.com/)
Long story short, the coupon I printed (while it seemed too good to be true, so I was skeptical...) my wife just got back from Publix with a brand new tube of the medicine. $27.02

Check it out! You may find this source to be cheaper than your own insurance co-pay. :datawiz:

I had a rash on my chest between my pecs that would come and go. Got cream for it, worked buit it would come back. Started using those puffy nylon sponge things in the shower with liquid soap. No reoccurrences in 5+ years.
So who gets the 300bux? Walgreens?

A few years back my wife had a six month gap in medical insurance. She has a lot of very expensive meds, so she went to work on the internet hunting down coupons and free samples, etc. We actually spent less on meds during that period than we did on co-pays when she had insurance. It only works temporarily, though, because most of the deals were one time only per customer.
The other revelation was that she stopped taking some things and still doesn't to this day, and there were no problems from doing so.
For myself, medication primarily comes from the liquor aisle at the grocery store and various wine clubs we belong to. I search for deals there, too.:shots:

Hey OP, I got the same meds off the net priced at the same thing ~30 bux same shit, I use it for my face for supposed skin cancers that keep recurring, tired of the surgery from a couple summers ago.....guess it happens from too much sun and fun over the decades.....:issues:
but it looked like the order came from Australia 18 bux for the same tube, plus ten bux shipping
next is the prostrate meds....I call it a pee pill, so I P Daily......
the crooked billing I seen go on in the Florida Medi crap over the years is just ASS--Tounding and so even the old medicare/caid/crap was being overbilled like MAD.....and you all are correct, get it off the net and leave the BS insurance crap alone.....pill is a pill, unless your sourse is from islam.....

With my insurance my blood pressure meds are $50/mo. which is the highest I've had to pay for any BP drug.
That site has it at $140 :faint:

Nice score with the coupons!
The whole health insurance thing is nuts... I'm fortunate that I don't take any prescriptions but 300 bones for a cream is horse sheit.
When Natalie was born it cost us $500 or just over. With the new little guy it will cost us $6000 + out of pocket.
The best part is looking around the perinatal room and seeing moms with 4+ kids that don't look anything alike signing up for their free services. :issues:

America took a wrong turn in the late 1930's on HC and then made an even bigger mistake in 1965 with Medicare and Medicaid. WE moved from individuals taking financial responsibility for their HC and moved it to Health insurance Companies and then the government.
Milton Friedman told us since the early 70;s we would face this issue and told us how to provide Universal HC at lower costs

And now we are charging towards a single payer program that has proven to be less efficient and more open to political deals and abuse than anything we have now.
