so my Dad is in the hospital

he had a double-bypass 8 years ago or so.
no problems since.

He and my mom were vacationing in Colorado, and driving back to Lincoln, He's in North Platte now.

OP, your Dad is right on schedule for repairs. A bypass is usually good for 7-8 years, then you need a stent. In all probability a stent is all he'll need to put him on his way, and a stent is no big deal.
