Okay, I finally got to watch the latest episode of "The Walking Dead". OMFG...To wake up and find out....*shudder*.....that you're being grilled...and eaten...

I thought them offing the little girl last season was a "Oh, Shit" moment, but holy crap!

Oh and the Reverend is in on the whole Terminus thing...IMHO

I made the comment to my the other day after that scene that the TV show has actually managed to get more f'd up than the graphic novels to this point. :willy:

There are some things that more of a mind-f'k in the graphic novels, though.

I am so glad I am caught up. I started watching season one two weeks ago and managed to get caught up to the recent episode a few days ago.

Care to explain? I got everything up to season 5 on Netflix, and watched the season 5 premiere on the AMC site, but couldn't watch last week's episode that way. Suggestions?

Reminds me a lot of when I was watching the show Lost - It was always interesting to see hat the books were sitting on tables and the records they would listen to down in the hatch. They all had a bit of foreshadowing to the next episode.

It is the little things in each show that I like - making sure the writers stay consistent...

That being said, WTH happened to Carol? When they were approaching there at the end it sounded like more than two people. Do her and Darryl have walker escorts like the sword chick did?

I really like Dr. Eugene and Sgt. Abraham. I hope they stay in this season. Dr. Porter reminds me of Elvis or bad impersonator. They could have a good spinoff with those two and their own group.

I think the tree markings were used by the Terminus remnants to find there way back to the school from the church in the dark.

Rob - Good eye on the verses. Very interesting choices.

For the record, I think Eugene is full of crap. He knows he can't fight and is using others to keep himself alive based on bullshit.

Jesus..what a winter Hiatus Finale....

I think we were all feeling, something was going to happen, but Id have never figured Beth would have gone down, not after 3-4 episodes were devoted to her, and her story...

I was kinda thinking Carol, and or Noah...but not a primary cast member like Beth. I guess it just goes to show you, no one is safe...

Eh, I feel VERY 'meh' about the midseason finale. A lot of build up to the confrontation and it was SUPER anticlimactic. How Beth died was just silly, and with Maggie not mentioning her ONCE all season made it even more so. We go from Carol being 50/50 on staying alive from internal injuries and then all of the sudden she wakes up (off camera) and is walking to the prisoner exchange?? I LOVE this show but this whole season was a hot mess.

I *KNOW* it's a show about zombies so I shouldn't expect realistic encounters but that whole moment where Beth and Dawn died felt so contrived because they 'had' to kill off a main character. First, Beth knows better than to stab her in the shoulder. SMH Secondly, the headshot was silly. A gut shot would have been the more likely outcome of that situation. The Terminus story line was good but the whole hospital story had serious holes in it.

I didn't get the whole hospital story line. It just didn't seem like such a bad place or bunch of people considering what was outside. Maybe there was more to it in the comics vs. what was on TV. Was Ofc. Samson the one that ran Carol, over? Rick seemed determined to kill him from the start and I didn't understand why.

They were all slaves to the cops. Women being raped, old guys being assaulted and nothing was done.

And yeah, Rick was awfully quick to kill that guy. I was shocked that rammed him like that. Then again he's become more like Shane was, no compromises when it comes to the safety of the group.

So, I started watching this series when the thread got posted and caught up to the mid season finale last night. This is definitely my new favorite show. I was surprised they killed Beth, but more surprised Rick shot that cop. I was also curious to see if the Terminus group was going to turn from eating tainted leg of Bob. Guess we will never know.

So, the question for me is how long did Rick lie in the hospital from the time that Shane left him until he regained consciousness? If only a couple of days had passed after he awakened until he rejoined the group then Shane and Lori didn't wait long. Or had they just got started? He couldn't have stayed there two months, as this scenario would produce. Dehydration would have killed him.

Maybe she wants to convince them that they are normal people that just need a place to stay. She wants to make sure there is no reason to ask them to leave or reject them.

I think they have gone feral and will never be able to assimilate and will be asked to leave, or will leave voluntarily. They will get stressed from "playing house". If that should happen, as hard as it would be, they need to leave the baby there.

Did you watch the 'Talking Dead'? Some suggested she is playing possum to Deanna and the other Alexandria residents. Like she is weak and not a threat if anything goes down. Did you notice how clumsy she acted when she removed her rifle? lol

And I would turn around and walk away from anyone or group that asked me to turn in my weapons. The only reason anyone ask you to do that is so that you can be controlled. Including Obama and other liberal dreamers.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think she wanted to show that she was weak when she is actually one of the stronger members as well as was once a psychologist. She understands the mind game and not falling for it. You notice she is even dressing the part and keeping her distance from her boyfriend also right now.

These people are evil. I even think the young girl that they said just came to the camp wants to friend Ricks son because she wants out of there but afraid to say.

Rick knows what's up and allowing them to play on his weakness by accepting the police position. He saw that the gun he hid in the blender was missing before he accepted the police job.

That town is about to be theirs once they figure out where the guns are. And if anything, it is going to burn to the ground like the rest of the places they have left behind.

I missed the very first of it, but saw a pic today of them just before entering the gate with him holding it. I did see the part with him gutting it on the front porch. I liked his line to Carol, "You look ridiculous" lol

The Atl. news stations ran stories about filming in the real neighborhood. They put a real wall outside the high dollar gated community, etc...

Yeah, I think they could take over pretty easily. Cant yet tell who all is there but so far if the ROTC guy is their most hardened rover, I dont think there will be much of a fight. I am wondering if there is a power struggle within the town already and Diane isnt taking in the group as protection against a take over from within. Still cant figure out why she videotapes all the interviews either. Like she has to take them to a higher authourity maybe?

To study them and find their weaknesses maybe she is also broadcasting these while recording them so that she can place the right people near the people being video recorded in order to take advantage of their weaknesses.

Like the girl offering the haircut - they know that Rick was an officer and thereby was likely clean cut and well groomed. They wanted to offer him that again - like having a canary in the coal mine - keeps them comfortable as long as he is clean cut and when he starts to get scraggly again - they know he is turning on them.....and before the end of the show, you see he was already needing a shave.

It is the little things you have to pay attention to. Like the comic/magazine that they said belonged to Enid. I did not catch what it was but I bet that tells us more about why she likes to sneak out and why she is good at evading Carl in the woods when he spots her.

I dont think they are long for Alexandria. Something is funny. Either walkers are going to get in somehow and the comfy people are all going to get eaten and just the regular crew will be able to fight their way out, or another group is going to come along and destroy it like what happened in the other neighborhood where Tyreese got killed. 'W' stamp has already been found on one walker near by.

:iagree: notice how Rick asked something about why do they keep the gates closed two episodes ago and then this last one when he heard the walker outside the fence he walked over and put his hand up as if he missed the walkers.

Also, when they were first found by the Alexandria "recruiters" and agreed to come along with them - the first sign of trouble the other guy shot a flare and his lover flipped out and told the crew that was with him to run. The people of Alexandria don't know how to fight...they are weak.

I agree, I really dont think he will make it past this season. It still is unclear how many people live in this 'town'. They had a bunch of people that we never saw before in the most recent episode. All the construction crew guys for example. I can see they arent fighters, the Doc is just kind of a dick but not a fighter... I jsut hope they dont split up the group again. Two main story lines is too distracting.

I was sure Glenn was going to shoot Nicholas. I figured Sasha was going to shoot the Rev and hoping that Rick was going to shoot the wife beater. Hoping the last 5 seconds were going to be something like *pop*switch scene*pop*switch scene*pop*. But it wasnt to be. Helluva good finale though!

It was interesting to see how fast Deanna went from "You pointed a gun at people!" To "Do it Rick." as soon as she was personally effected by someone elses violence. Some kind of statement on gun control?

Did Rick shoot the wife-beater hubby or Dianne's husband after he bled out from being stabbed in the throat to keep him from morphing into a zombie? I couldn't tell from the scene.

I like Glenn and I dont want him to die but first season episodes need some kind of shock to keep people talking about the series. I have no idea what the comic books say at this point.

Not a reader of the comics, but apparently he dies pretty brutally and around this point in the story too. They have been 'Easter Eggs' this season teasing fans that highlight this, but since the show is different than the comics you just never know. From what I've read Glenn is more of the Daryl character in the comics...

I think either they are a small fraction of a larger group that is close by, or they are the last remaining two of a large group that got munched... Either that or something else alltogether but those are my guesses.

When is the next season supposed to start? Isnt it like September or something?

Same universe as Walking Dead, just in L.A. versus Georgia. Rumors say it might go into more detail as to what happened but nothing concrete on storylines yet. I'm looking forward to seeing walkers in the urban jungle!
