If you are just mowing residential, the simplicity champion has suspension, more power, and deck for the same money...

The kawi engine is not worth the pemium price.

The chopper uses unitized hydrostatic drives, same as on mid line toros, and homeoener grade stuff. The simplicity uses seperate hydro gear pumps and wheel motors, like commercial units.

Thank You..but I can't go any larger than a 42" platform 36 would be ideal.

Isn't Simplicity owned by Ferris which is owned by Briggs? I looked at the Simplicity mowers when I bought mine and I thought the one shop had mentioned they were owned by Ferris which is why they have the suspension set up like the Ferris.

Damn, decent all round Z mowers for fair money in the 36 and 42 inch range...are slim.

The HUSTLER Raptor, can be had with 36 and 42"...of course, it has light duty hydros, but everything that isnt full commercial in this size range will have the light duty hydros.

Whats nice is the price...2800

I would pass on that Snapper S50.

Let me explain how Ferris works...

Ferris makes Z mowers

Briggs and Stratton owns Ferris.
Simplicity makes tractors..

Briggs owns simplicity.

Snapper made Rear engine Riders...

Briggs owns Snapper

Murray made extreme low end price point mowers...

Briggs owns snapper

Massey Ferguson, Agco, Allis Chalmers were defunct brand names..

Briggs bought them...

Now...

Ferris Z mowers..are 100% Ferris. Extreme high end models, full commercial, all the bells and whistles.

Simplicity Z mowers are FERRIS mowers, with different paint, less bells and whistles, lower price. Simplicity Riders, are a combination of Simplicity frames, and Murray decks on low end models.

Snapper Pro is a company that Briggs created for another tier of Z mowers...less frills than Simplicity, but made by ferris..the lower end models (S50 for instance) are stripped down, with murray decks. The higher end models are essentially rebadged simplicities, without suspensions.

Massey Ferguson Z mowers are stripped down even further, low end engines, low end murray decks, no bells and whistles...very plain offerings.

Snapper Tractors, are simple rebadged Simplicity tractors, with Murray decks, and less engine, less options, no full roller deck.

Allis Chalmers tractors are rebadged Snappers, with even less options, less quality

Murray tractors are basically assembled with whatever parts are left over...
