I like pumpkin, it is great in breads, muffins and pies. But why do we need everything we consume in pumpkin flavor? Coffee? Coffee Mate? Pop-tarts? Pringles? Ice cream? Waffles? M&M's? Jello? Last night we ate at a favorite little Mexican hole in the wall. They had a special "seasonal pumpkin flan". Really? Okay, I feel better. Continue with your morning.

I love this time of year but yes, the pumpkin thing has gone way, way, way overboard on so many levels.

Pumpkinmania is no different than turkey at Thanksgiving. Millions of turkeys hit the market at the same time.....consumers have to figure out how to get rid of all that turkey. Thus, turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, and other turkey infused dishes, all designed to do the same thing all the pumpkin crap is designed to do....get rid of it.

I enjoy a slice of pumpkin pie or a little pumpkin bread occasionally at this time of year.

Pretty much pass on the rest of the pumpkinish items, though...
