My secret to performing is to always surround myself with better players. Gary Kohler on the drums and Tom Good on bass might possibly be the best rhythm section on the planet.
Tom's wife is a bad ass singer too - in the realm of Aretha Franklin. We all used to play together in Milwaukee.
At the time, I didn't know it was the best music I'd ever perform. I miss it with all my soul.
Full disclosure - They were slumming with me. But my gigs paid pretty well and they are just good people.
